Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There are no drawers for clothes. It makes it difficult to place 3 peoples items for a week without leaving them out on show. The air conditioning worked well in the 'sitting room/spare bedroom' but not in the main bedroom.
We had a junior suite, 501. Fabulous size with TV's in both the twin bedroom and the 'sitting room/second bedroom'. It was clean, had a kettle and coffee machine, mini bar and hairdrier. Fabulous location on the edge of historical Girona. No need for taxis. The train station was within mins walk to get to Barcelona and many other places. Easy to hire bikes locally. Breakfast was fairly comprehensive and they catered for Gluten Free

Two minor complaints: 1. No electrical sockets next to the bed for cellphones to recharge. 2. Room rather bare, no mirror, no prints or art of any type - just bare walls.
Everything was fine. Had an excellent lunch there on one day.

The beds were quite hard, but we can appreciate it's difficult to cater for everyone. A minor point is that there is no iron or ironing board available - no big deal but worth being aware of.
Perfect location - close to restaurants and bars, and the beautiful old town Girona, and 10 mins walk to the train/bus station which connects you to Barcelona and the airport. Room was bigger than we were expecting, and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Reception staff were lovely and always helpful.

Room faced the street and was a bit noisy due to traffic and street cleaners.
Clean and comfortable. Superior room good value for money. Room was large and well equipped with kettle/ tea making facilities. Breakfast is not included in the room rate but cost 12 euros. Very good continental breakfast with lots of choice. Staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful. Location very good for sightseeing- 10 minute walk into the old town. Would definitely stay again.

There is quite a bit of sound from the street. makes sense in a city-Centre location, but the windows are not very isolated and the metal shutters rattle in the wind when you close them. Also the aircon was very loud, so the choice is fresh air or quiet.
Very good value for price, the hotel was super clean and well maintained and the staff was friendly. The bath in the room was a super nice extra.

A little warm in room. Windows closed eliminating a lot of street noise.
The staff was helpful and restaurant very good. The windows were push button control for blocking light.

Excellent central location, has undergone recent quality refurbishments, friendly, attentive and helpful staff. Very comfortable, clean room with good sized shower room. Only a 10 minute walk to the station.

I heard the plumbing from other rooms overnight. It actually woke me up. I don't know if there was a problem causing the noise - sounded like flushing and faucets being used - but it was disturbing. Also I would have liked a larger towel for the shower. The one provided was more like a hand towel. Luckily I am petite, but can't imagine how a taller/broader person would fare.
The staff at the front desk provided very helpful information about the parking, let me check in early since the room was ready, and overall were exceptional. The location is perfect for walking to the historic core - 2minutes away - and there are many good restaurants close by. Room and bathroom were pristine. I think this added up to great value for my stay.
