Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Could hear noise easily from the corridor outside our room.
Very comfortable beds, good size room and very clean. Fresh towels every day and beds are made. In a great location and walking distance to everything.

It was exactly what we expected and needed.
Ideal location for the big 3 Madrid art galeries, none more than 5 mins walk. Mainline (Atoche) station an easy (15 min) walk too. Lots of great places to eat in Calle de Jesus round the corner. Quiet at night too.

Make sure to go checkout not later than at 11:00. Haven't read it in conditions and were in rush to collect our things. But it was my omission.

Noise easily heard from other rooms, staff could only speak Spanish
Spent 6 nights and stay was beyond my expectations. Cleanliness, daily cleaning service, small fridge, comfortable bed. Tea and coffee facilities. Location walking distance from Atocha station and Gran Via/Plaza del Sol.

A bit difficult to reach from the metro stop and since the hotel is on the first floor of the building, there was some confusion.
It’s basic but super clean and comfortable, great for resting before traveling back home!

During the evening/night you are expected to be very quiet and anything above a whisper is frowned upon. This is worth noting if you’re going to be returning to your room after 9pm. It was difficult to warm the room as the AC unit only seemed to heat the area directly around the unit. This resulted in the floor being extremely cold.
The location is great especially if you intend visiting the major museums and galleries. The room is spotlessly clean and the hotel is a really good choice if you’re visiting Madrid for a few days.

I liked everything, the beds were firm, which I really like but might not be for everyone
Super clean, very friendly staff, quiet area but close to everything. Definitely will stay again when we are back in Madrid!

Room minimalist but nice. Initially hard to get in. Only marking was note on one of 3 doorbells on the inside of the trim around the door. I was able to enter when some was coming out but 1st floor had nothing but a stairwell and elevator. I called Booking help l ooo e and they called the staff and he came done to get us so all worked out. Probably my fault because I didn’t realize it wasn’t a regular hotel.
Very clean with new fixtures in the bathroom. Close to Prado. Good hearing. Very friendly staff. Bed very comfortable. Beautiful historical building.

The only slight niggle was that the extractor fan in the bathroom came on at random times after leaving the bathroom and turning everything off.
Lovely ,good value pension, in a great location. Very friendly greeting upon arrival, the room was good, and very clean. Overall, a very good stay and would definitely go back.

The hotel building was a bit old but that's not something to complain about.
The staff were really attentive. They clean the rooms everyday. They also change the towels everyday. The room was spacious. The bathroom has bathtub, bidet and hair dryer. They provide wáter heater for the free coffee, tea and milk. Coming on winter, we thought It would be very cold but the room was really warm. We didn't use the heater a lot. And the location is amazing. You could go anywhere in minutes. There was nothing else i could've asked for.
