Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe WiFi password supplied did not work. Emailed the hotel never got a reply ! Met a member of staff the following day and he sorted the code. There is very big hill each time to the town its coming back is the problem.
Good self check in. Room was ok size wise. Had a fan which was badly needed with the heat. Ok shower and bathroom with ample supply of towels. Ok budget hotel.

North MacedoniaComparing to other stays in the region , this was the most expensive but the least aesthetic by looks. It is definitely the cheapest in the city but for the price they could do some renovations that don’t require a big fortune. Even though it was thoroughly cleaned, it just gave dirty vibes due to the worn out and old furniture. Also, we were traumatized by how much the neighboring rooms were loud. At one point, we felt scared for the people in the room next to us as they were in such a big fight. So keep in mind, that the rooms are definitely not soundproof 😅 Also, our toilet had the toilet exhaust facing the passageway to other rooms, so they can definitely hear you when you are in the toilet😭
Good location. 1 minute to a really big Mercadona, which is a supermarket. The staff is really welcoming and will make sure to accommodate you. It had a new AC unit that was working even more than needed, so thats good. It has a small kitchen which we didn’t use, the city has definitely cheap food options. If you don’t know Calpe, keep in mind that it is pretty steep to the beach😁👋

ItalyThe only small issue was the air-conditioning which stopped working the last two days after 10 mins of starting it. The first time I have mentioned to the staff and once back it was fixed but then the last night I turned it on again and after 10 mins it turned off by itself, could not inform the staff since it was night.
The staff was very nice and helpful even if they are still learning Spanish! The room was spacious and very clean, everyday got new towels and everything cleaned and organized! The location was TOP with everything around ( lots of bar and restaurants also downstairs as well as Mercadona and Día) and close enough to the beach. Cosy and easy accessible. Helpful shared kitchen for storing food in the fridge!

NetherlandsThere is not a trash bin in the rooms which is necessary to be added.
The room was clean and the bed was also comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is fine, near Mercadona supermarket. Also near the beach. There are cafes and restaurants nearby. The small shared kitchen was really nice. And it was very convenient and helpful for us.

SpainIt was a bit stuffy inside as the windows were quite small and there was no air conditioning. There also had been a slight issue with the check-in as the instructions were not clear from the get-go.
The location was excellent as it was walking distance to the bus station, the old town, groceries, shops, restaurants, and the beach. The room had all the basic amenities a casual traveller might need.

BelgiumYou get what you pay for and this is no 5 star hotel so previous complainers should book more expensive.
This quaint pension offered me all I needed. A comfy bed and a hot shower. Even working airco in August. I particularly admire the receptionist Mariana who's a adorable person. I loved her to bits xxx. Communication was not always easy but some good will goes a long way. So, 55 euro for an airco room in August in the heart of Calpe. Love it ❤️

Clean and well looked after. The staff are very nice and helpful! The location is very convenient - close to all the shops and restaurants, with the beach being a short 7-10 minute walk away depending on how quickly you walk.

SpainThis one star hostel is located on the first floor of a residential block of flats. Above our room lived someone with a dog which was howling all night l wish I could attach the audio with the sound of it. We barely slept The hostel doesn't have any sound insulation so you can hear other guests arriving, opening and closing doors, talking, luckily it was low season and only a few rooms were occupied. The room decoration is outdated, old furniture and appliances. There's no reception - there are lockers with a code, on the phone you get the code to pick up the key and let yourself in. In general, a very poor experience.
Free drinking water.

Spainstaff is no show, and THE NOISE, if you are a light sleeper avoid at all costs there are plenty of dogs barking in the night, noisy neighbors and some other guests were really rude listening to music and talking loudly all night, after asking them to please respect sleeping hours I was insulted and since there is no reception there was no solution, we got 0 rest, sadly I won’t be coming back..
