The food was good but very expensive. (The most expensive on our trip) And it was bean stew! Charging for incidentals (like a bag of tea, instant coffee etc. was annoying parsimonious.

We had an authentic Spanish experience, provided by the very friendly owners. Their property is a beautifully rehabbed home with spacious, comfortable rooms and a lovely dining area where we had a fabulous breakfast consisting of homemade breads, cheeses, jams, etc. lt was a memorable stay!

Only slight issue was the Wi-Fi dropped out a lot but could have been the location and did not impact on our stay.

Breakfast was great with homemade and local produce . The pool and garden were fabulous, great after a hot walk. Hosts were really helpful and knowledgeable about the area and have a genuine commitment to the environment. Beds were very comfortable and room had everything we needed. Evening meals were delicious and allergies catered for without a problem. We would definitely return.

The fact that we had only booked for 3 nights and were unable to stay longer due to being committed elsewhere, our stay was too short, but that was entirely our fault.

I liked everything about it, especially the delicious locally sourced food: immediately developed a taste for Spanish breakfast and the dinners were truly excellent. The hosts: Angel and Lucy, whose business and home this is, do a superb job: many of their guests keep coming back year after year, just as I would love to. The location was great: on the edge of the village looking out onto the cork-oak tree 'deheso' on the adjacent hillside - we even saw a honey-buzzard which circled close by! Went on their enjoyable and informative jamon 'tour' and olive oil tasting session, both well worth it.

Our host, Angel, could not have been more helpful or lovely. He began by coming to rescue us from some remote village due to a bus ticket problem (with no questions asked!) and continued to be a wonderful host throughout our stay - even taking us and another guest to a village for our evening meal. The location is fantastic especially if you like walking and there is a huge variety of wild flowers and birds to spot. The Posada has a great pool which, if the weather had been warmer, we would definitely have enjoyed.Restaurants and bars in the village accommodate all tastes and budgets and the ones we ate at provided really good quality food at very reasonable prices.

Wonderful location in thriving village community with walking trails from the door. Lots of places to eat and bars in the village. Fantastic hosts who were passionate about eco measures and supporting the community with local produce. Very helpful with local knowledge , walks, and transfers. Great breakfast good coffee. Lovely views from the balcony ,pretty garden, large pool.

Lucy and Angel (with help from daughter Sofia too!) are running a wonderful hotel. They communicated very fully and in a very friendly way before we arrived so we'd know what to expect, and gave us all the information we could possibly need about local restaurants, bars and walks, even lending guests a phone to follow the trails on GPS, which was often really useful in choosing the correct path of many! We had a great dinner cooked by Lucy on one of our nights there, and were also able to buy wine and beer from the honesty bar, so no need to go out to the local bars when tired! The Posada is spotlessly clean as well, and simply furnished with hand restored furniture and a keen eye on sustainability. Very nice breakfast, and opportunities to do other things such as olive oil tasting or ham carving, so it's not exclusively for the active! (we personally focused on walking this time, but we will look at the other options if we return with less mobile friends or family).

During these current strange times, we were the only guests at this very homely property for our two nights’ stay, and were thoroughly delighted. Ángel and Lucy made us so welcome and comfortable. Both of them exude warmest hearts and genuine love for this dream project they have made into a reality. Plentiful information was offered about the village of Alájar and its surroundings. They know literally every nook and cranny in the area! Infinite time and care was taken in indicating what/where to visit, according to our taste. Breakfast is more than plentiful and includes delectable home organic produce from Ángel’s garden and Lucy’s kitchen. An exceptional dinner was provided per our request … mouthwatering in presentation and flavours in a peaceful atmosphere with hundreds of beautiful birds accompanying us … and far superior to the local restaurants in the village. Kudos to Lucy! Parking outside the property was easy in a fairly wide street. Our extensive thanks go to this wonderful couple, who made our visit truly unforgettable. May they have continued success in the future … and may the current situation improve rapidly to provide them with a fully booked home!

Very limited dining options in the village. I believe the breakfast could have included egg dishes but there was cheese, some fruit, and meat. The coffee was very good and was readily available.
