Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIts a fairly big walk from the old town, so we drove as we were only staying 1 night and then driving on to France. Parking in San Sebastian is a nightmare! There is probably good public transport options that we did not investigate.
We liked having a split room, we had a two rooms joined by a kitchen. We split it boys and girls which was fun for the kids. Free parking. A fairly decent location, restuarants and bars within walking distance. We walked to the beach promenade in the evening. Really nice friendly staff at the desk, who spoke great english.

RomaniaNo AC or screens on windows to keep out mosquitoes. The studio for 2 people was very small, practically just a basic single room. The stove did not work. The price per night was quite high for what it offers but still low compared to other accommodations in San Sebastian which is an insanely expensive town.
very friendly and helpful reception staff, located in a pleasant area of city, easy access to Ondaretta beach (15 min walk) and city centre and tourist areas by bus (bus 25 & 5 is just around the corner). It offers free private parking at the side of the building which is a big +.

HungaryWell prices were quite high compared to type of accomodation, but still lowest in town available that date. Cleanness was not that good.
Large accomodation, with lots of rooms, but putting 2 plus bead in each room makes it harder to navigate within the room and using doors properly

United KingdomMeant to be luxury room. Two beds squashed into a single room so not much space. Building retained heat so hotter inside than out in summer with no air conditioning. Windows opened but no fly screens.
Comfortable beds. They had vending machines if you needed a snack/drink.

United KingdomValue for money is a big problem: to pay EUR 105 for a basic single room in a student hall is... A LOT. Like, really a lot. However, I am not blaming the residence itself for it: San Sebastian is INSANELY expensive, and doesn't have that many hotels, so the prices are what they are.
Manuel Agud Querol is a student hall open to international tourists. It comes with everything you'd expect from a student hall: lack of pretence; great, quite, campus location; AMAZING front-desk staff, plenty of fun people around (no noise though).

United KingdomThe window opened onto a main road. The price was a little more than we were hoping, but these are minor in comparison to the good points.
The room had a fridge with icebox, a hob, and a few kitchen basics. There was a large window that could be opened, and a security shutter. There was a pleasant courtyard that could be accessed, and a laundry room.

Jerseyit’s roughly a 40-1 hour walk to the Old town so if you’re out for dinner/drinks do keep that in mind however it is a scenic walk and safe. There are a number of buses that service the area so you can travel by public transport up to a certain timeS
it’s clean, affordable and easy to find. the free parking is also a bonus. The staff are friendly. the studio room was modern and comfortable. it’s student accommodation so don’t expect the Ritz!
