Public areas were a little lacking in atmosphere

I had been travelling for 2 days so just wanted to have a bath and a good nights sleep. The plug didn’t work in the bath. Staff came up but couldn’t fix it. I asked to change rooms but was told they were fully booked. No other option/ refund was offered. I went back on Booking.com and it said there were 3 rooms available for that night. I went back to reception and was told that if I wanted to change room then it would mean another guest being told there was no room for them. I said I did not want this and suggested the price of breakfast was waived but was told this wasn’t possible. I was given another room but made to feel like I was a horrible person for doing this. I would like to think maybe it was language difficulties that made me feel like this but not the best customer service. Surely they must have a contingency plan for when a room isn’t suitable.

Very welcoming staff when I checked in. Welcome drink in the bar was a nice touch.

The room window was facing some inner courtyard which is not so nice to see but I guess this is something that cannot be changed that easily.

Great location, big room with desk, fridge and large bathroom which makes the stay perfect. Also very friendly staff open and approachable at any time for questions.

Our room was very comfortable, exactly as we expected. The staff was very friendly and very helpful in whatever we needed, the breakfast was also very good. On our next trip we will definitely choose it again.

Polite, attentive service as always without being intrusive. Excellent breakfast. Complementary glass of cava in the bar on arrival was most appreciated. Perfect location for visiting the university and metro L3 within easy walk.

Located in a very nice and safe neighborhood. Very easy to access all Barcelona attractions using public transportation that pass very close to the hotel. Public parking underneath the hotel, offering special prices for the hotel guests (you have to ask for the special price at the parking's office and pay there before leaving the parking).

Bad wifi in the room. Parking under the hotel is expensive, better consider taxi services if you're staying in Barcelona city.

An amazingly warm welcome on arrival, very friendly helpful staff, the glass of cava on check in was a lovely touch. The room was huge, very comfortable too, amazing bathroom and again more extra touches like fruit & water in the room. Breakfast was really good, lots of choice, good coffee & again the staff were fantastic. The hotel is in a perfect location too. Only 7 minute walk from the main metro station and then 20 minutes to the center on Barcelona and 10 further to the airport. I would absolutely stay here again and can not recommend it highly enough!

The location of the hotel wasn't ideal. I usually stay closer to the city centre. The metro system is nearby, so it was still easy enough to get in to where all the action is. Also, I know they have a standard check in time. However I did notify the hotel at the time of booking that I would be arriving 3 hours early. They advised that they would do their best to get me checked in as soon as they could. I also reminded them on the morning of my arrival that I was arriving early. I was advise over the phone that my room would be ready for me earlier than the check in time; however i would still have a short wait, which was excellent. When I arrived I was then told my room wouldn't be ready early, and in fact my room wouldn't be ready for at least an hour after their standard check in time. So I had to hang around the lobby for 4.5 hours before I could get checked in. 1.5 hours after I should have been able to check in. I wasn't offered any complimentary food or drink for me having to wait. Which I thought was a bit poor. However a few hours later they did bring me a complimentary bottle of champagne and food platter, which was nice. The overall friendliness of the staff, from front of house to waiting staff was very poor. Never experienced unfriendly hotel staff in Spain before... and i travel to Spain 4 - 5 times a year. With all the above; the room was still amazing, and I would stay here again, even despite the location and unfriendly hotel staff.

Loved this hotel. Although when I was walking in from outside, my first impression was it was a budget hotel... and that's not what I paid for. It has a basic reception but it is nice so that didn't do much to change my mind either. However I booked a junior suit, and I have to say I loved it. Beautiful big bedroom with a luxurious touch. A small, but lovely living area, and an amazingly big elegant bathroom, with a huge bath and seperate power shower. overall it was an amazing room. I would definitely stay here again. the hotel also has a quaint restaurant space, and separate breakfast area. The food was of restaurant quality.
