Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomFor an older person such as myself it was not very clear where the lift was , instructions on how to enter would have been good. No taxi numbers were available at the reception.
The price was very good for the central location.

United KingdomIt was basic - small shared bathroom etc - but it is a hostal in a major city centre and at this price couldn't expect much more
My only criteria was a bed close to Atocha Station for my late night finish/early train/brief stay. Fitted the bill. Wouldn't use normally but did the job

United States of AmericaMy window opened onto a surface where a person could enter; it did not lock and felt unsafe. Some other windows opening onto the surface had metal grids for safety.
I saw through an open door that some rooms had large windows and a balcony. Location was near Atocha.

SpainVery noisy. The hostel is in reality a very old flat, without renovation, in which the rooms are being rented.

DenmarkRoom was very small and extremely basic. A shelf was broken and hanging from a hole in the wall, lights were defect. Only one shared bathroom/WC for seven rooms, and as it was occupied all morning, I had to leave without a shower. I stayed in the corner room next to the reception and it was very noisy.
Near to Train station.

United KingdomLady who signed me in didn't even confirm she had the booking: worked through her papers for a while and I only knew I was in the right place when she gave me the key. Fairly basic facilities but to be fair it's central and cheap.
Central location once I found there are two places with the same name. I booked this one but first went to the other. Room looked out to a courtyard: may sound dull but it meant it was quieter and cooler.

ItalyThe hostel is a bit pricy for what it offers. the rooms on the exterior side are very noisy, keep it in mind if you are a light sleeper. the window of my room also couldn't close correctly so I guess in winter is freezing.
the location is excellent and the staff very accommodating. it's ok if you stay a couple of night. I wouldn't recommend it for longer stays.

France-noise at night - plan to stay here no more than two nights -dark rooms and not great lighting -generally very old building and rooms, but you get what you pay for
Good location. While no private bathroom, my room had a sink so I could brush my teeth without leaving the comfort of my room.

GermanyThe beds were actually fold out guest beds with mattresses on, we were placed in a double room with separate beds even though we are a couple. The duvet covers were very old and the hangers on the one clothing shelf were so old and weirdly deformed we could not hang any clothes on them. Out of 10 sockets in the room only the 3 close to the ceiling worked. There was a fan on the ceiling but the controller seemed broken. The door to the cute tiny balcony could not be closed all the way, so no protection from the noise of the traffic, which can be deafening. For a couple of days two older guys with daddy bellies and no shirts hung out in the kitchen, cooked, smoked and watched TV quite loudly.
The hostel seems safe: all doors are reserved to those with a key, and the hostel entrance is a massive, heavy door with a huge lock, I can only imagine a tank knocking it down, nothing else. The room door did not seem as safe. The staff cleaned every day; the towels, the sheets, the bathroom were spotless clean, you could eat off of them. The heating is really good, you won't be cold in this hostel in any room.

United States of AmericaIt’s cheap, in all the sense of the word. You get what you pay for. The bathroom is on the hallway and I don’t mind that but it could be cleaner, that may be my biggest complain.
It’s right next to the bus station where you take the bus to the airport. I just had to grab my luggage and walk there.

United States of AmericaThere was a shared bathroom between residents. This made it difficult to use bathroom at the time you needed it. If someone was taking a shower or using the bathroom you would have to wait until they were done.
Location was good. I liked how the room had its own sink. Also the room had plenty of space to move around. The lady on the front desk explained that we could check out at anytime and leave the keys in the basket, which is good for people who need to check out early.
