Slightly away from the beach front but taxis aren't expensive (or if you're fit, you can walk) but a small thing compared to the price and the friendliness.

A great place. Saskia and Vince are the perfect hosts. They have an honesty bar and although there's no evening meals, (a great breakfast however) you can either go to restaurants nearby or order food for delivery. More like a home from home than an impersonal hotel.

The walk up and down from the hotel,we didn't have a car. Its around a 15 minute walk down to the main road, further 5 minutes to the beach. The walk up a little longer depending on how tired you are after your day out!!!

Very relaxing place, peaceful, quiet and lovely location.Torrox Costa is a great place too, we loved its long promenade and beaches. Saskia and Vince were excellent hosts.

I miss integral bred, but the breafast was nice, and the place is lovely and quite. Great service, so nice poeple! Private parking free. Good wifi. We were two but I booked a room for 4 (to get a double bed). The area is poor, but the residence is very nice.

Very relaxed atmosphere. Hosts were always available, attentive and helpful. Room was very comfortable. The hotel gave us the opportunity to meet with and speak with other nationalities. Small, friendly hotel perfect for chilling. Would definitely return.

The shower could benefit from a bit of an upgrade, the head was in a fixed position and the water flow almost stopped when another guest ran a shower.

For the able bodied the location is great, about 800 metre walk to the front. It is a lovely quiet and peaceful place with ample parking, nice grounds, a tennis court and other games, and the rooms are comfortable with air conditioning. A generous and varied breakfast is provided, and Vince turns out a mean scrambled egg and bacon. Vince and Saskia are cheerful and helpful hosts. The terrace is a lovely place to relax over a drink or meal and enjoy the morning or sunset. Good value.

You may be sightly intimidated by driving to the property if you listen to your navigator (DO NOT LISTEN TO YOUR NAVIGATOR) but it is very easy when you get there as the hotel has ample parking. And the hosts give you very good instructions before you arrive. The views are great, the grounds a nice and relaxing. The pool is open 24 hrs - so your can enjoy it under the starts that are just an arm's length away, at least it seems so. The hosts will give you more local information than a local info centre. I loved it!!! Thanks Saskia and Vince!!!

The very friendly owners of this lovely, small hotel in the hills above Torrox are very welcoming and helpful. It's around 10 mins walk to beaches, restaurants etc. Quiet location, nice pool, tennis court, honesty bar...

Be careful with your own drinks, you can have it only in your room.

Beds too small and too short, bathroom very outdated with a top flush toilet and tiewraps to keep things together. Not easy to find a decent place to eat in May (too early in the season and a lot of restaurants closed)

Ample parking and easy to find because they put up a lot signs. Nice views and outside is a very nice area.

Beautiful location on the hill side, short drive away from the beach. Very comfortable home with rural charm, woke up to a chorus of birds singing all around. Personal touch from owners brings a feeling of home. We had a lovely stay, thank you

The breakfast was a feast, an abundance of everything one could ask for and more. Soskia(the host) offered a hot breakfast of eggs and bacon ( included in the price of the room ) She was clearly working the business alone as her husband was away and the guest rooms were full, but nothing was too much trouble and did it all with a smile. What we liked was the bar was opened 24hr, fridge stacked with all kinds of soft and alcoholic drinks, snacks and ice cream. All on the honor system. Pay for what you eat/drink and keep track on a log and pay at the end of the visit. We spent an overnight and our room was immaculate, clean and comfortable. Saskia was very friendly, and helpful. Although running the guest house on her own and in spite of us getting there earlier that we expected, she checked us in and gave us a tour of the cortijo. Obviously it was the start of the season, so maintenance was taking place outside but the inside and rooms spotless. A little kettle in the room would have been nice but not a major factor. One warning, get directions from the owners ahead of time as this little gem is tucked away and off the beaten track and not easy to find. I fully recommend this charming little hideaway. It is close to the main drag and beach by car and various hot spots and resturants. We will definitely be aback! Cortijo Amaya is a picturesque guest house in Torrox Costa and a great place to rest up and chill! (Travellers from JEREZ de la Frontera)

An English speaking channel on the TV would have been a bonus

This was homely and tasteful with nice touches in terms of furniture and decor. The host were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and special dietary requirements catered for - I think the hosts would only need to be asked if there was a specific item you needed!

Nothing wrong with the hotel at all, only recommend a car or taxi to get to local restaurants if you have mobility problems.

Very personal service, right down to our last morning with a early breakfast, which was left ready for us outside of normal service time. Sheets changed mid week, towels daily if needed. Great choice at breakfast from continental to full English or anything in between. Large spacious rooms with AC and en-suite. Several distinct seating areas outside for groups & individuals. Pool good size for a small hotel, toilets beside the pool as well. Honesty bar available all day plus tea and coffee in the breakfast room, this was a revelation to us !! Hosts Saskia and Vince very eager to please and friendly. Good location for touring the area, Torrox Costa, Nerja etc 45 mins from the airport without traffic. Car recommended for touring.

The location is a little remote up the hill in an agricultural district and is a little difficult to find the first time without good GPS.

The hosts made this stay a real joy, making us feel at home the moment we arrived and advising us on how to make the most out of our time in Costa del Sol. They also assisted us with planning our next travel stop in Spain. We very much enjoyed all the travelers we meet at Cortijo Amaya and visiting with them over a glass of wine on the outdoor porch or at the wonderful breakfast.
