Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe tea and coffee facilities - we would have liked to be able to make our own in our room - or at least have full access to boiling water etc.
It is the most wonderful location - to be able to sit outside at breakfast and enjoy that spectacular view - while being waited on, was the highest luxury and greatest delight.

United KingdomLimited local dining options in the nearest local town in the evening (possibly because of the time of year or because it was a Monday when we needed transport) and lack of taxis from the town. Fortunately the excellent value Casa Lolo was 15 minutes' walk away while the fabulous Casa Romantica about 30 minutes away but not open in the evening.
Stunning location with amazing views up the valley and of the surrounding mountains. Lots of great hikes nearby.

United KingdomThe access to the hotel needs addressed. Definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. We had the evening meal a couple of times-although not expensive, menu could be much improved.
The location of this small hotel was really beautiful- set in a luscious valley. The rooms were furnished with antiques and were spacious. Pool area was lovely, staff friendly and breakfast good. The view from the breakfast terrace was really nice. Our bedroom was large and well furnished and bathroom good. Car hire essential.

United KingdomThe lane connecting it to the main road was narrow and bumpy The dinner option could be improved
Lovely breakfast on terrace with splendid views of the valley Beautiful setting in a lush valley - palm trees, orange groves, a cactus garden… Building is a 19th century country house, elegantly furnished with antiques - the feel is of being a guest at a private house, much more enjoyable than an impersonal, characterless hotel experience. But you feel free to roam and use the gorgeous drawing room , reading room with vast windows and views all the way to the sea… yes, some of the furnishings are a bit worn - but such beautiful fabrics and original pieces!

GermanySwimming pool is clean, though I would recommend to remove the little leafs this would look prettier (but I m control freak)
Little paradise in a green valley, next to the lovely Aegete village and a little harbor. Historic house, with a lot of charm, in the middle of a fruit garden. We had a large double room, totally calm and cool even during warm days (loved the decoration of the bathroom). For the breakfast (a la carte and prepared a la minute, with fresh products) you will face the wonderful valley and hear little birds. Staff is professional and friendly. There are not too many rooms and most of the time you feel you are alone in this big property and this is just perfect to relax (cannot describe the feeling but it just feels wonderful and relaxing). There is a swimming pool and e Bike rental options (did not try). In the evening, they offer dinner options, otherwise you can try one of the tapas restaurants in Aegete or the sea food restaurants from the harbor (highly worth the visit), and finish with a walk to the natural swimming pools on the sea side. I can only recommend this place (wish we would could have stayed longer).

United KingdomWe had a three course dinner in this fab hotel one night for only €17.. The main dinner was tasty but the pudding could have been much better. We think they should charge higher price but improve the menue. However this is only a constructive recommendation .
Perfect service from the management (Lourdes), atmosphere, location , peace and tranquility. Staff were all very curteous and under perfect management of Lourdes one would not expect otherwise.

United KingdomNothing to dislike really. The diner is convenient and functional home cooked food. Adequate, but look elsewhere if you want a more indulgent feast.
Exquisitely located old Canarian working finca set in a beautiful valley amongst palm trees and vines. Great place to relax and friendly atmosphere amongst guests and staff. Feels more like a homestay than a hotel in its cosiness. The downstairs rooms opened directly to the courtyard which gave them a nice sense of space.

United KingdomThe shower slider was broken. The loo wasn’t fixed to the floor so that when I reached sideways to get the loo roll it tipped! Terrible thin loo roll 😬. The mattresses were very hard, I was fine but my husband couldn’t sleep and was very stiff each morning despite the hotel kindly putting a quilt on top of the mattress. This is what made us leave two days early. The breakfasts, that previously had been a glorious buffet were presented as a not terribly clear list on a piece of paper tick box. We didn’t discover until the second last day that there was Spanish Serrano ham available, the ham listed that we tried on day one was ‘plastic’ reconstituted.
We last stayed here in 2018. The location is mainly what drew us back, in the green valley of Agaete. The pool area is comfortable, lovely to lie on the loungers under the orange trees with the scent of blossom. The staff are charming. The water is hot, the room (2) large and airy. The restaurants just down the road in Puerto de las Nieves are very good, delicious food and not expensive, we went down each evening.

United KingdomIt looks underfunded and understaffed. It needs a jolly good tidy up, it's too shabby and unkept. Very little atmosphere. A pity as it's essentially a beautiful place that has heaps of potential.
We were excited to visit this hotel as we loved the fact that it was a beautiful old family home/finca, located on a plantation in a beautiful valley. We had a pleasant stay, but really the place looks tired and so much more could be done to make it amazing. It has so much potential, but you get the sense that it is underfunded and under staffed. Perhaps it's fallen on hard times due to the pandemic, who knows. We had a pretty bedroom, but our ensuite shower room was small and the loo smelt at times. We had dinner there one evening which was underwhelming (expect average home cooked food) although it was very inexpensive. There was no atmosphere in the dining/lounge areas which was uninviting. The communal areas look shabby, no one seems to make any effort to tidy them. There are various window blinds that are broken and just hanging unusable. The pool area was lovely and peaceful and the breakfast was good. The views are beautiful. The gardens and surrounding orchids are really unkept and look really sad. We felt the overall experience should've offered up more for the price we paid.

United KingdomWe went in December and it was a little hard to find good local places to eat in the evening but Agaete is a nice town.
