Our room was dark, we accept that its an old property and that's the style but it needed better lighting. Our shower ran boiling hot without any warning and we thought the bathrooms need updating, certainly the wire on our hair dryer was showing through.

Lovely location situated in the centre of an banana plantation with great views.

There was nothing to complain about although it would have been nice to have a bit more going on in the evening. The bar/restaurant was extremely quiet.

A beautiful hacienda set on a hillside. Totally relaxing and very quiet. The room was stunning with amazing views. Staff were exceptionally helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was plentiful with great coffee. A wonderful stay.

Lack of a proper bar and the evening meals in the restaurant. Service was extremely slow, food was uninspired probably processed food on occasions, lukewarm. Need more staff in restaurant at night to cope and very poor value for money compared to local restaurants. It lets the hotel down.

I wanted to love this place: but it was disappointing.
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children

Terrible service: this place could be amazing if not run on skeleton staff. There is no one around between 5 and 7, so there is no way you can get a drink before dinner (except the mini bar) or any help if needed. We had to put the cushions on the outside chairs, turn the lights on in the beautiful lounge room and ask for the fire to be lit (it was 15 degrees, grey and a bit miserable) then there is the spa: in a stunning room - but the jacuzzi could not be put on higher than 27 degrees (we asked) which is tepid - definately not jacuzzi temperature. and the dining room: a beautiful room, what a shame the food served seems to be from britain in the 80s: everything tasted microwaved. there are tea bags and cheap instant coffee packets by an old plastic kettle available to guests, but this is not what you expect from a property like this, or at these prices. its a massive wasted opportunity - a few nice touches, drinks and good food available and someone around to serve you and keep the place running would do wonders. its not a great area but the hotel could be made into a little oasis that you never want to leave, but its not.

I wanted to love this place: but it was disappointing. Its a beautiful property and the rooms were very comfortable.

A lot of money to pay for a mediocre hotel, which is not ideally located for walkers. Dinner looked dull, so we ate in a local restaurant.

Building's history and rusticity. The breakfast waitress was very friendly but she could have done with more helpers and that would have resulted in a better b'fast.

Take the simpler rooms on the ground-floor and avoid the junior suites because You will be alone with Your heavy luggages and a lot of steep staircases. Avoid number 13 as You won't have light from the small hidden windows. The restaurant open for dinner from 19.00 to 22.00 offers only some standard snacks directly from the freezer but You won't find a lot of alternatives in the surrounding villages. The bar is open from 08.00 to 15.00 and from 19.00 to 22.00. Breakfast is poor and You have to pay extra-charges for eggs and good coffee. The reception is open from 09.00 to 17.00 so adapt Your arrival and departure to this. A bit high-priced for what it offers

It's a nice place in a century-old manor-house near to Arucas in Northern Gran Canaria. Esily to be found and surrounded by a banana plantation. Absolute tranquility - You don't hear even one car passing. So if You are looking for peace far away from mass-tourism that's where You should go.

Decor was a little dated. Wifi in room was non-existent, and only available in certain public areas. Hot-tub was heavily over-chlorinated and ended up giving us both skin irritation!

Helpful and friendly staff. Rooms had character - exposed wooden beams, stone walls, and very comfortable. Everything clean. Very peaceful.

Attractive hotel in quiet rural location.

Our bedroom, Room 13, was one of the suites, on a mezzanine level with a very dark sloping ceiling, restricted view from the small window and dim room lighting. Felt a bit like a bat in a cave! The food in the restaurant was poor, reminiscent of school dinners. The local town of Arucas did not have a good choice of eateries either. I don't think this northerly part of the island is really geared up for visitors.

Attractive hotel in quiet rural location.
