This was an absolutely wonderful stay. Jose made this possible by going out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. Dinner and breakfast was very good. He also educated us on the changing of the Camino route and made sure we got back on the Camino when we left.

The hotel is charming and well appointed, and the manager, Jose, is an impeccable host. I had one of the best meals of my life there: the Galician soup and chicken.

After a hot day walking the Camino Ingles was told pool closed for the season the day before. What staff there was were surly, the condition of the hotel was poor. Looked run down and unloved. The price was by far the highest we paid on this trip and the poorest.

The only thing I would change is the carpet. This area of Spain gets heavy rainfall, and I think the carpet retains a lot of moisture from the air, giving the room a musty smell. This is true of anywhere I've traveled that gets heavy rainfall or is close to the ocean. One way to avoid the problem is to not have carpet. Leaving the window open for a bit takes care of it. The price for this room is considerably higher than similar accommodations in Galicia. I suppose that is due to its proximity to Santiago de Compostela. Nevertheless, I would stay there again because we were treated so well.

The hotel clerk was friendly and attentive. I had stayed at this hotel the previous year, and he welcomed me back with a complementary breakfast for my family. (If you are traveling with a group, they do a very nice breakfast buffet. They also will put together a family style dinner with delicious food, which I had the previous year.) I was delighted that the hotel was able to accommodate my gluten free diet. We had such a nice conversation with the hotel clerk the morning before we left. The rooms are clean and spacious. There are hair dryers in the bathrooms.

No air conditioning in bedrooms, ours was like a sauna but we were given a fan. Swimming Pool was empty as broken. Noisy as on main road.

Staff were lovely. Good value and tasty menus of day. Very kindly did not charge extra for breakfast even though not included in booked price. Very close to Camino which passed rear of hotel.

Excellent manager. Clean and comfortable rooms. Big garden with pool. Food was good value. Would recommend this to someone who is walking the Camino Ingles. Most pilgrims stop at Sigueiro however the advantage of the San Vicente is that its 5km further on the route and makes an easier final days walking into Santiago - especially if you want to get to the cathedral by 12pm.

Pool could have been cleaner, but in their defence, it take a small child to swim in those temperatures!

The building has definitely seen better days, and it seemed very old fashioned compared to the other accommodation we had along the camino. The room felt cold and slightly damp when we arrived - though once we got the airconditioning working that improved and was fine overnight. The swimming pool was not yet open (we travelled in May) and so was full of dirty water, which was a bit of a disappointment after a hot afternoon's walking, but clearly the season has not yet started in this part of the world..

The hotel is actually directly on the camino Ingles (though it's the back entrance you walk past so if you don't know where to look you could easily miss it). The staff could not have been more helpful, we had a nice evening meal in the restaurant; and the bed was very comfortable. Great for a one night stay and then a nice short(ish!) walk to Santiago de Compostela.
