Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBreakfast was a cold continental as expected plenty of variety no complaints. Location was great just across the road from the old town 10 minutes to the cathedral. This was a historical building which added to the stay.

United States of AmericaI don't have any major complaints. As with most hotels, more vegan options for breakfast would be great.
I was impressed with this hotel given its price point. My room was very large, hardwood floors and clean. It was a little loud as it was on the first floor facing the street. It had a full size shower/tub, not some tiny one you can barely turn around in. It had character as several of the walls were the rough, large stone blocks you see on the outside of buildings all around Santiago de Compostela. Breakfast was a decent spread of the standard items ... bread/rolls, sliced meats/cheeses, yogurts, cereal, pastries, fruit, coffee, hot chocolate. The hotel is an easy walk from the train/bus stations and is right on the edge of the old town ... a perfect location.

CanadaThe light in the stairwell took a bit to come on so I was walking the stairs in darkness. The light in the entry area of the room could have been brighter. Be aware that the attendant is remote (off-site) at certain times of the day.
I booked a room at Alda Avenida after walking away from a terrible accommodation down the road. (I took my bag and swallowed the $ loss.) Fortunately, Alda Avenida had availability and a great price point. The room was large yet cozy and charming, with an exposed stone wall. Great view from windows. Huge bathroom. Comfy bed. Clean. All the good stuff.

United KingdomNo issues!
Our flight was delayed, meaning the reception desk was empty. Fortunately, I had emailed the hotel to advise of our late arrival. They promptly replied, advising how to access the building, making our arrival straightforward!

IrelandA hairdryer in the room would be handy instead of going down to reception to get one. We were on the third floor.
The breakfast was value for money. It was a healthy start to the day. The location was very central.

United States of AmericaI was on the Camino and taking rest days. The first night I got no rest because the people above me were walking in their room at all hours. It was my fault. I could’ve called the front desk and had them see what was going on. They were kind enough to move me to a second room the next night . That night there were about 50 or more people below my window up until about four in the morning talking and yelling. It was very loud. Unfortunately, it wasn’t good for a rest time on the Camino for me.
The Property was in a great location. The staff was very helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. They had complementary bottles of water and chocolates in the refrigerator. It was also nice having a safe in the room and a refrigerator in the room.

It is a beautiful place, steps into the old city. I was not able to find any available rooms for that night. So, I ended up paying triple what I would have ordinarily spent. Other than that, it was great.

United States of AmericaWhen saying there is a "restaurant" in the hotel - I didn't realize that was just a basic buffet. Being here for 3 nights, I had planned to have dinner here 1 or 2 nights, so that was disappointing. But the breakfast buffet was very good.
The desk in the room was nice. Since there were 2 people, it would have been nice if there would have been TWO chairs in the room.
