The food was your standard European buffet, don't expect world class but it's free breakfast and dinner so no complaining. The room was rustic, bathroom ceiling and curtain rail was a bit dodgy and bird nest above our balcony not that we spent much time out there.

Staff were good and made an effort for our queries more than happy to order taxis and provide any information. The facilities were great they have a rooftop sunbathing area and pool and also another pool across the road which is keycard access for hotel guests. Beds were comfy and despite room being dated, it didn't feel dirty at all. Couldn't knock it for price.

    It was all spot-on.

The whole experience of the hotel was great. We checked in as the evening meal was in full swing and had a wonderful time in the dining room, good food selection, fish was cooked fresh, lots of other foods to choose from, hot and plentiful.Great surprise, beer and wine available from dispensers with no limit, good selection of fruit, ice cream and sweet puddings.A real treat for a tired traveller.

after spending 2 hours trying to locate the Hotel, and then to be told that there was no parking available was the last draw. In fairness a member of staff did find parking for us in a Cinema near by at 20E per day.

The variety of food on offer was brilliant.

First day there the safe would not lock so I had to wait till they swapped it. Then the rear door would not lock had to wait for that to be repaired. No English t.v. The poolis on the roof its small. And difficult to find a parking space.

The food was reasonable good. The staff was helpful.the room was cleaned every morning.

Extremely disappointing in relation to Food, we had one meal in 5 days due to the poor standard. The Air conditioning in our room wasn't working and they attempted to sort it but it was no better. I have relied on Booking.com for info in terms of rating properties but this Hotel was no where near a 7.5 . Our Room was just up from reception and the noise levels when parties where checking-in was (7.00am onwards) unacceptable.

The location of Hotel was about the only positive we could apply to the Sol Y Sombra.

Food was poor choice ,not a lot of vegetables and sometimes substandard ,at times it felt as though people were so frightened that food would run out that they piled plates high ,they would hog the coffee machines and toasters at breakfast times

Handy for getting to local shops ,bars

The safe in the room did not work. Impossible to fully close or lock the balcony doors as they were damaged. Half board was included but the food was of a very poor quality. Wine and beer was included with dinner, beer was fine but the red wine was beyond recognition.

Perfect position close to the old town even if the immediate area of the hotel is not the best. The room was very large if a little basic. Very large balcony.

Roof top pool was extremely small. Another pool was situated over the road. It too was small with very little area for sitting. No sun umbrellas were provided. Room was dark and dreary. Tiny window looking out onto a brick wall. Bath badly chipped. As I have lived in Spain for 10 years I am used to Spanish hotels. This was by far the worst I have ever stayed in. Drinks at dinner included in half board. Choice of red wine or beer!

Nothing! First time I have had to give a poor review

If you entered the dining area at a busy time you would have to queue for your drinks. (Otherwise get there early.)

All occupants were respectfully quiet both at night and mornings with non of the usual rowdy noises that you associate with hotels in Benidorm.

Expected more from a family room. No balcony or space just 2 double beds together. Shower sprayed everywhere and the bathroom became a hazard for the children.

Location was good, close enough to the beach and amenities near by.

no view from room didn't know it wasn't a none balcony room , public toilets smelly and dirty most of the time, food wasn't to our liking only used it twice so wasted money, jacuzzi was dirty on first 2 days then on last day it wasn't working . smell from bathroom drainage smells all through night had to keep door closed and when you woke up and went to bathroom the smell was over powering

pool nice and quiet before 3pm , good customer service from reception staff had a issue with a dirty shower curtain and made reception aware of it and it was dealt with when room was cleaned. room was cleaned every day if you put the service needed sign on your door . all in all a good hotel .

Staff so so friendly. Rooms very nice spacious and clean. Excellent value for money. We needed a hotel with a car park as we was just visiting Benidorm for the day and this was still walking distance to the Center but taxis are so cheap anyway we asked the hotel to order is a taxi.

Dirty, dangerous , food nearly all empty and cold, chef unfriendly. Towels with gum,Doors Broken, garage very expensive. This is a one star hotel but not 3 stars.

    No issues.

Desk staff very very helpful and cheery. Ideal location for Benidorm old town and approx. 1 mile walk to the start of the Benidorm strip. Went half board, very good variety of food, however catering for Spanish tastes, so don't expect sausage chips and beans. Overall would go back with no issues.
