Rooms are on the smaller side and the floors are very cold (could use a few small carpets in the room). Walls are thin as are the doors, you can hear conversations in the lobby from inside your room. Not a big fan of having to return keys when entering and exiting the building.

Great location, near public transport, surrounded by cafes. Friendly staff with a welcoming vibe.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Tirso Molina Hotel. As other reviewers have noted, there is no elevator and the rooms are very small. But the hotel is also safe and clean and quiet. The staff were incredibly nice and the location is fantastic. We were in Madrid for only two days and so we were out all the time, returning to the hotel just to sleep. The smallness of the space didn't bother us (though, to be honest, the climb up 5 flights was a little daunting) and we appreciated the comfortable bed and good heating system. Our room had a very nice balcony, which we would have enjoyed had it not been cold and rainy. We would happily stay here again!:-

The stairs to the top suite were very small, steep, and challenging! And though we had a kettle our friends in two other rooms didn’t.

We stay at the 4th floor and no elevator.

We had a great stay at THC Tirso Molina Hostel! The staff was really really friendly, reception was open 24/7, the location was TOP and close by the City-Center. There are enough places in the near to eat a nice breakfasts or go out by night. Our room had a beautiful terrace. Supermarkt, Metro station, restaurants are around the corner.

As people have mentioned, there are alot of flights of stairs. Be prepared. Our bed was very slanted and we had an awful night sleep, I would suggest it needs to be replaced and my partner rolled off it! I also sliped over in the shower so some additional safety measures in the bathroom would be appreciated.

We had the best room on the top floor "the suite" the staff called it, it had a great terrace for afternoon drinks and nibbles. The location was really good. Everything is walking distance and there are lots of great tapas and cafes around. The staff were really friendly and helpful, even offered to carry our heavy bags to the top floor.

The size of the rooms and bathroom were a bit small.

All the staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. They even helped me carry my suitcase to the room and suggested the best things to do in the city. House keeping made sure the rooms were clean and tidy.

Our room was incredibly spartan in terms of size, facilities, and furniture. But all we really needed was a place to crash after a long day sightseeing, so it actually kind of worked for us.

Loved the staff! The daytime clerk, in particular, went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Appreciated her recommendations regarding points of interest and transportation options near the hotel. She was also incredibly accommodating in helping to get our luggage up the stairs. Bed was uncommonly comfortable, and double-glazed windows were completely soundproof.

The rooms are not sound proofed, we could hear the other guests in the hallway and in their rooms, so it was hard to sleep sometimes.

The position of the hotel was perfect. Maria and the staff was very nice and helpful.

The staff at THC Tirso de Molina were so helpful and accommodating. They allowed us to leave our luggage with them before our room was ready and after checking out which was an incredible relief! The room was clean, comfortable and very well equipped (anything particular such as a kettle or hairdryer was provided upon request). The hostel itself was in a great location with many main attractions only a short walk away! I would thoroughly recommend staying here!!

Wifi was not always working, the AC is noisy if you leave it on for a longer time (turn it off before you go to sleep). There is no elevator in the building.

Everything is in walk distance but you can easily catch buses or metro in the nearby if you want. Restaurants, cafés, groceries are also very close. The receptionist lady is very nice and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. Perfect for a few nights in Madrid.

Only one small thing was the air conditioner was around the corner from the bedroom area, so it didn't cool very well, but the staff gave us a fan to use during our stay and that worked out well.

The location was perfect for walking around, but in a quiet spot. Great tapas bar next door and plenty of breakfast spots nearby. The room we had was large and the bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was good too. Staff was very friendly and greeted us upon entry and each time we came down from our room. We also had a little balcony that was nice to sit out on in the morning.
