    Everything except the parking

The foto showed a modern reovated room, inreal it looked like a prison cell and the total hotel looked dirty and shabby. To much money for a place like that. Not a good thing for booking .com and we are not used to come in to something like that when we book true you.. 😤😬

Bedroom was actually smaller than the bathroom. Bed rather small. No individual air conditioning control, it's just centrally controlled which I was told meant only on at night when the temperature at night was in excess of 21°C - i.e. only in the very hottest part of the year, not in September! Breakfast was very rudimentary and only started at 7.30am, when they could be bothered. Crosiants, other pastries, bread, cheap diluted orange juice and some fruit when they could remember to put it out. Quite a lot of noise at night until late from bar on the ground floor.

When the WiFi worked it was fast and allowed PPTP VPNs but there were often times when although connected ther was no internet access. Excellent location in the heart of the city.

Excellent value for money 3* hotel, clean, spacious rooms with friendly staff. The adjacent bar served really good coffee/tea and breakfast items at bargain prices. e.g. coffee and large croissant for 2 Euro, daily menu very reasonable with cheap alcohol prices. 1. Furniture are old and worn, dated from 1980s? (photos attached) 2. No view from my window - only an enclosed courtyard (photo below) 3. My room door was not sound proof, one can hear the voice and footsteps of fellow travelers outside the room.

Superb location: the hotel is situated literally yards from the cathedrals del Pilar and La Seo and Museum Alma Mater. Museum Goya is only 3 min walk from the hotel. As Don Jaime is a busy, one-way narrow street lined with small shops, restaurants and cafe/bars, shopping is very convenient. Bus 35 outside the hotel goes right to Plaza Espana where the bigger shops are. There are numerous antique warehouses behind the hotel (around La Seo) that are worth browsing too.

Because the parking is not attached to the hotel (understandable due to historical buildings, narrow streets) it would have been helpful if the GPS coordinates for the parking were given. Mind you, once we were parked it was a short walk through the beautiful plaza to the hotel.

The wifi was poor. The car parking in the local underground car park was convenient but the spaces in the car park are tight and encroached upon by large columns.

We wanted a hotel with car parking but it wasn't stated that the hotel didn't have a car park. As it was in the Town centre we assumed it had an underground car park. Car park was near and subsidised but difficult to find on arriving.

Large bedroom and bathroom with hairdryer and toiletries. Bedroom had a french balcony overlooking the Basilica and the clock didn't chime after 10pm. Fridge in room was useful and safe was provided but only 3 numbers worked. Lift to all floors. Location ideal for sightseeing was in the centre so everywhere was easy to visit by foot.

Window went out to an inner courtyard, so there was little natural light. Not a room to spend more than 2 nights in. It says online that check-in begins at 12, but you may be unlucky and have to wait till 4 to get a room. In my opinion, this is not described clearly enough. Breakfast: obly (very) sweet spanish bakery products, so nothing salty. Limited selection of drinks. And, you can only have one piece of each (1 drink, 1 juice, 1....). Lacking sufficient diversity (for non-sweet lovers) and the limited quantity one can have for free, I did not even closely get sated.

Location is perfect- next to the Pilar Plaza, so you are right in the city. Lobby. Huge bed and large bathroom. Size, quality, and modernity are fine for 44€ a night.
