There was no fridge, no complimentary water, no fan, no air-con. There was no dressing table or adequate desk. The breakfast is basic. Not great value for money.

The location is convenient for the town. The staff were accommodating and friendly.

Lovely period property with a great garden space to relax in. It's family run and the people running it do care about their customers. We were riding motorcycles and were offered the use of a hose and when the proprietor saw us cleaning the bikes and umbrellas when we took the short walk into town - small but important touches that make you feel like a person rather than a room number. Free use of the coffee machine was a welcome nice touch too!

Its a lovely walk down to the town but a hike back up. The hotel was also a bit difficult to find

Hotel was an old colonial Argentinian house that had been converted in to a hotel. It wasn't the most luxurious but it had lots of character and charm. Basic accommodation set in beautiful grounds and a historic house.

location in evening as we could not find a taxi in town after having a dinner there, even the hotel told us it should not be a problem, a local person saw us searching for a taxi and called for a taxi, but at around 10pm they did not want to offer that service anymore they were at home already, luckily this very nice person brought to the hotel, relieved we did not have to make the walk via the steep stairs in the dark.

Although the hotel was little out of town and the seafront restaurants it was in a very quiet area . Once we found the correct stairs to walk to town it was no problem walking down but had to pace yourself coming back as my wife has a heart problem and 2 artificial knees. She managed the climb without a problem after an enjoyable meal at many of the seafood restaurants.

It may not be everyone's choice that this hotel is located in Valdes slightly away from Luarca, there is a steep walk uphill back from restaurants in the town but its an enjoyable walk and the hotel is in a peaceful residential location.

This is a lovely individual hotel that we have stayed in before. We stayed this time for one night; the room was good located at the front, with high ceilings. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is now served in a separate building in the garden. This seemed to work well and it was good to walk round the gardens after breakfast.

A very characterful and comfortable Bed and Breakfast.
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple

    • Stayed 10 nights

There were no fly screens on the bedroom windows which had to be opened at night to cool down the room. This allowed some insect entry particularly mosquitoes! The bedroom would have been improved with a fan to circulate air and a small fridge as there was no hotel room service.

A very characterful and comfortable Bed and Breakfast. The Villa had closed its restaurant so all meals apart from breakfast had to be sourced elsewhere. There was an excellent restaurant within 100m.The Villa had a beautiful antique interior and we had a spacious bedroom overlooking the garden with en suite shower/bath and separate toilet. Loved the drawing room/library and the stunning gardens with small swimming pool. The senior member of staff spoke good English and was very helpful. Plenty of level parking space. The Villa was situated at the top of the cliff above the town. This had the advantage of being away from the congested narrow streets but did mean a 20min walk to and from the town with the return leg being uphill.

Generally disappointing. Not as it looked on the website - a bit dirty and uncared for. Badly decorated. Plastic protective cover on the bad. Breakfast in crumby modern pavilion to the side. A walk to the town through a not particularly attractive area. Most expensive on our two week holiday and easily the worst.

A delightfully large room in a house of architectural interest, (an Indiano house from late 19th c), it was in pleasant gardens with easy parking and easy access from the autoroute. A short if steep walk to the centre of the lovely town of Luarca was also part of the historic Camino de Santiago.
