Unfortunately the flies got the better of is, the restaurant was really pricy and it took a good 30 minutes sitting outside on the terrace to get service. Also no aircon in room and wooden floors had a few broken planks one couldn’t step on.

Location right next to castle. First impression of old building great and it seemed like a nice place to just have dinner and sit outside. Must have been a joy in its hayday!

This is a lovely old school hotel. Very friendly and comfortable. Set in s little complex consisting of a castle, basilica, pretty church, religious school and one other hotel. A last minute booking, for s place to rest my head. So the view of the castle outside my window was s real surprise. The dinner in the restaurant was delicious. A set menu for 22euros of such generous portions that o struggled to finish! Set in s really beautiful part of the country, just off a huge reservoir, and close to some beautiful gorge walks. But conveniently just 5-10 minutes off the motorway and s short distance from Pamplona.

The bedroom walls are pretty thin, so although the hotel's location is blissfully quiet your neighbouring guests might not be. Don't expect super-luxe - this is traditional Spanish in decor and bathroom, but good value. For overnight, rather than a week's holiday.

Very friendly staff, and an excellent location - just half an hour from Pamplona and a great jumping off point for exploring the Pyrenees. And it's beautifully quiet. .

I have been traveling around Europe for two months and keep going back to Hotel Xabier because the staff makes their guests feel like family! The hotel is located outside of Pamplona but well worth the drive to visit Castillo de Javier and to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The hills around Javier are some of my favorite in the world for a long, relaxing walk through stunning countryside and you will never get lost, the castle is always in sight. The restaurant provides ambience and a five-star meal that you will not soon forget. A visit to Hotel Xabier will refresh your body and your soul as you enjoy spectacular castle views, warm service, and regional gourmet food!

We couldn't charge our computer but could charge other devices. This is important when away from home for a while & needing to check travel plans etc. The outdoor could have been tidied up & the ashtrays emptied to make it more inviting.

This interesting hotel is situated in a historic area opposite a castle. It is in a park with a lot of permit parking in the street. The view was breathtaking and very memorable. The shower in my room was so small and my room had a smell. The twin beds are quite clumsy too. We were hardly in the room anyways, so a lot is forgivable. Don't leave your room window open; my friend and I got a moth in ours lol P.S. be sure to arrange your transportation to get you back into the city.

It's right by the castle and the surroundings are absolutely gorgeous. It's old-fashioned, if you're into that sort of thing; I liked it because of that. The food is amazing and affordable, just don't fill up on the bread when you order because the food portions are great :) We were here for a wedding and the entire experience was beautiful! The people are awesome! I was also able to get a last minute souvenir at the reception.

    El hotel es precioso.
    • Group

The creaking floorboards! To be expected in such an old building I suppose. But I would stay there again if in the area.

The hotel was in an idyllic location. A view of the castle while having an aperitif is one thing I'll remember in those cold winter months in England. The waiting staff in the restaurant are excellent and the meals the chef produces are divine.

The hotel is charmingly old fashioned but certainly comfortable. The restaurant has an 18 E menu with numerous choices, not including wine or beer. The food was fine, traditional and well presented. My one complaint was that the. Wifi did not work in the room, I had to go down to the area just outside the reception to get my I pad to work. The castle is fun to visit and the museum of St Francis Xavier's life is well done.

Very old hotel super clean. Staff excellent. Restaurant prices 15 to 19 Euro, all the dishes are underpriced, everything cook to perfection. The surroundings are so peaceful and the country side is beautiful.
