Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The hotel is a little outdated and needs renovation. This issue is not unique to this hotel but is common in Ethiopia in general, where hotels and buildings often lack proper maintenance. This is a wonderful hotel with a great location and friendly staff, but it needs upgrades before it ends up in poor condition like the Gihon Hotel.
Nice hotel with very helpful personnel. Thanks a lot for the hospitality.

Everything was fine - it is not a resort but just a very good hotel.
Location was good, just a few minutes from airport and an easy 5-10 minute walk to a main shopping street. Area felt safe. Sidewalk was mainly dirt so a bit messy when raining. Hotel staff very helpful. Breakfast was generous and good with omelette cooked to order and lots of other hot dishes plus fruit, bread and pastries. Good shuttle service to airport.

The menu was a bit limited in terms of variety.
It was close to the work place. Friendly staff, able to communicate well with staff, passable English. The hotel facilities were good; clean rooms; comfy; sizeable rooms. Friendly price.

The breakfast did not have extensive options, and my experience with the tour agent recommended by the reception was not good.
The hotel staff are kind and the cleanliness of the hotel was notable. I loved the birthday presentation they did for me, and appreciate the F&B team. The stay in general was short but good.

Bathroom shower area was rusted and drain was not proper. Shower head water holes were clogged and I had to clean it for proper water flow.

The room was on the second floor and at the front of the hotel and very noisy due to the traffic.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant and breakfast had a good selection. The hotel was in a good position for access to the airport and a free shuttle bus was provided.

The mattresses were too soft, and the pillows were too big — it was uncomfortable for me, but someone might like it. It's an absolute matter of personal preference, not a drawback of the facility.

Nothing much may be more variety of breakfast option would make things perfect.
I really love the location of the hotel and the staff are so supportive and welcoming! The hospitality of everyone is amazing ! Tsion who is in charge of the my booking and Mr Sentayehu who served us in them restaurant often were fantastic! I was just getting off a 24hr exhausting flight and this hotel was everything I needed, never met a more hospitable staff especially the gentleman in reception, superb service and availability, it was 3 am and he took care of everything I needed to get settled even the little things, 5 star experience, already planning to stay here every time I have a layover in Addis.

Lots of street noise even on 4th floor. Only one satellite TV station. No pool
