Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Reception staff were so welcoming. They organised breakfast to go for us as we had a really early flight. Great location. Room was lovely and so comfortable

The lighting in the room was horrible. Could barely see to pack or use things. The way the shower was set up it was nearly impossible not to soak everything and it did not drain out well. Also, public bathroom off lobby was down a lot of steps and long hallways so very unaccessible in emergency.
The breakfast here was incredible! Fantastic location and easy access to public transportation. Lots of places to eat nearby. Very clean all around. Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

There was no body lotion which I would expect since the hotel has decided to have 5 stars in Booking.com. Since I travel a lot for work I always try and book hotels which has these products so I don’t have to bring anything for a short trip. I would expect it at a four star hotel so I was very surprised to not find any in a five star hotel. The staff at check out seemed very distant and unhappy. Didn’t look up or smiled at any point. Didn’t ask anything expect if we took something from the minibar.
Very nice breakfast and good location.

There was a dirty sock in our room on the floor when we arrived.
The location of this hotel is perfect! It is right in the center of the city, close to the train station, museums, shops and bars. It almost could not be more central. Breakfast had lots of vegan options which was great!

Door to the toilet in the room does not close properly which was a bit confusing and loud

Had a fantastic stay in Marski. Location is perfect to get to lol tourist spots and restaurants and bars on foot. Room was spacious and beds very comfortable. Staff really nice. Loved the gym- great facility.

Nothing we didn't like.
Very nice and friendly staff. We celebrated our 20th anniversary, and we got a great room upgrade at the check-in. The hotel is cosy and very tastefully decorated. The breakfast was superb with a wide variety of freshly prepared juices, fruits, hot food and gluten-free options. The location couldn't be better, a few steps away from the railway station and a large variety of restaurants. We can highly recommend the Marski.

Great property very central, but I will say having stayed in 5 star hotels, this just wasn’t one. Nothing was wrong with the hotel, it was wonderful but it’s definitely boutique and not ‘all singing, all dancing’ you would expect from 5 star hotels. This might be a difference in rating from country to country, but don’t let this put you off it’s great for a weekend break and very comfortable with lovely staff, but don’t expect 5 star.

You have lot of clubs around so drunken activity on the street in the night and you can heart it in the room.

Room bathroom was very smelly. Cleaners should report plumbing problems and room should be out of use until problems are fixed.

I had a room without windows. It was nice.. but for the money... :)
I checked in and had a chance to do the quick running session before going to the premiere. That was really And then in the morning, the breakfast was very rich and good.
