“Staying at the château was even more delightful than we anticipated. The setting is wonderful - right in the middle of vineyards and on the edge of the village with a small but pleasant restaurant. Breakfast was exceptional in its freshness (especially the orange juice and fruit salad). Our room was spacious and had obviously been prepared to the highest of standards. I don't think we've ever seen bigger or fluffier towels! Parking is straightforward.
We have stayed in this area several times before but not in this particular accommodation. It has now become for us a further, definite option.
Worth emphasising that breakfast is superb but there is no evening provision. Possibilities include: restaurant in the village (fairly basic in facilities but warmly welcoming and with good food); the Château de Pizay (requires booking in advance for most of the year); the Auberge de Clochemerle (also requires a booking and fully deserves its Michelin star).”
