Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceNothing.
Our stay was truly exceptional. The room had a beautiful view of the garden and was close to everything we needed. The design and comfort of the room were amazing, making it perfect for our honeymoon. One of the highlights was having a picnic and painting date in the garden, accompanied by two friendly cats and a couple of chickens. It was such a charming and unforgettable moment.

United StatesAs a b&b, it’s great. Its charm is a bit of a weakness. Creaky floors, no TV which again is good for keeping down the noise level. The breakfast was good and would have been better with an egg or piece of ham.
Anne is a wonderful host. We loved her garden which produced cherries. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The location is good. Near the train station and the town center. Giverny is a 50 minute walk. There is a shuttle service to Giverny from the train station.

United KingdomMy friend is allergic to cats which caused her a little concern as there are a couple of cats in the property - however they were generally kept out of her way so we managed!
A very pretty, period French house. An easy 10 minute walk from the station. Lovely views over the garden from our room, which was actually two rooms and an ensuite shower room. Very peaceful. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely - fresh fruit, fruit juice, yoghurt, nuts, pastries and bread

United KingdomThe bathroom facilities maybe need updating, but all ok.
The property is a lovely house in a beautiful location. The twin room has a double aspect - one window looking over a quiet street and the other view overlooks the garden. The beds are comfortable. The host, Anne made us very welcome. Breakfast in the dining room was perfect - fresh bread, croissants, fresh fruit, jam, fruit juice, coffee and tea. Information about walks, restaurants was also available. It took us about 10 minutes to walk from the train station with a small suitcase.

United StatesI loved staying at Maison Anne! Anne herself was very nice and helpful. We felt welcomed immediately and she showed us around personally, including a walk in her vast garden and introduction to her cats and chickens. She pulled a table and chair onto the terrace for me so I could use my computer outside in the lovely weather—as a gardener, outdoor enthusiast, and writer, I was delighted by all of this. The house itself is an elegant, grand, old French home with very high ceilings, winding wooden staircase, lovely entry hall. The room included a sitting room, bedroom, WC (with tiny handsink) and traditional shower bathroom. It’s heavily decorated in a traditonal French-country/antique style that is tasteful but makes the space feel a bit cramped…still very charming. Breakfast was a very nice and fresh continental breakfast by ourselves one morning and with three other guests the second morning. And was very attentive to make sure we all had our preferences, and she also helped with excellent restaurant recommendations. My only reason for not giving an excellent for cleanliness is that there are 2-3 cats that come in and out—had my husband who is very allergic been with me, we would have had to leave. I don’t recall cats being mentioned on the listing, so I suggest making this clear for medical reasons. Anne provides slippers for inside the house and Crocs for wearing in the garden due to the free-range chickens and their droppings. As a garden lover, again this charmed me, but my friend found the occasional fur and garden evidence a little off-putting. I loved our stay and would gladly visit Anne and her lovely country-house-in-town again. Merci beaucoup!
