Though no fault of the hotel, the one way system in Lille makes finding it very difficult even using a satnav device.

The central bar/restaurant area is beautifully conceived and executed and is one of pleasantest spaces I've encountered in a hotel anywhere.

Room had only one armchair - should have had two (as all pictures). One duvet cover badly torn. Lighting in room inadequate. Disappointed in meal - good starters but veal for main course tough and inedible. Sent it back, replaced by beef, quite reasonable. Only charged for 1 main course.

Bar prices were ridiculously high. €9 for a kronenbourg! Have stayed in much more upmarket hotels with cheaper bars! Also was not informed at check in that breakfast was €19 extra per person. Only found this out when I had been charged at check out. Not the hotels fault but Lille is like a ghost town on Sunday with EVERYTHING closed! A lot still closed on Monday....

Very clean and well decorated, food in restaurant was excellent, friendly staff, lovely quiet location

    Nothing to report

A hotel of exceptional design quality, being the conversion in 1990 of an original convent building on the Quay to the adjacent river tributary. A very open and spacious design with a huge modern glass canopy roof which allows for a suspended bar area above the ground floor space. The rooms are allocated around a quadrilateral which look over the bar and restaurant area. One of the most impressive hotel designs that I have come across.

    - Our room was on the 3rd floor . To enjoy the beauty of the building, it is better to have a room on the 1st or on the 2nd floor. - Parking of the hotel was full at noon. - poor lighting in the room

a well renovated monastery from the 17th century . The inside of the building is impressive. Rather well located at a walking distance from city center. Neighbourhood is very quiet.

Pillows lumpy, room far too hot, forever turning the radiator off, no view from the window, looking onto the very dirty roof of the main atrium, the bathroom is in desperate need of upgrading. The shower was lovely and hot but because of the angle of the fitting needed to be held or was at a 80degree angle from the wall Should have upgraded the room on hindsight

The staff are very business like and could be a little friendlier. The room has coffee facilities but doesn't consider tea drinkers. Cups for tea and a kettle would be good. The vegetarian menu option wasn't available on valentines day so we couldn't use the restaurant. When I asked if they could do a vegetarian option I was simply told what was in the menu (meat) was it.

The hotel is interesting and in a good location. Room was quiet.

Not enough machines for tea/coffee so we had to queue quite a lot. The lady checking guests in at breakfast was extremely grumpy on both days. Her counter is not placed by the entrance so most guests walk in without seeing her which might explain was she was in a bad mood. The counter should be moved to make her job easier.

Hotel has a business like feel and staff whilst pleasant left you to own devices e.g. In lounge area you had to go to the bar, at breakfast no guidance just help yourself, at checkout just efficient no 'hope you enjoyed your stay' etc. No big deal but at this more expensive hotel you might exoect natural service more forthcoming.

The room we had was strange - the only windows looked out onto an enclosed central courtyard and the walkway we entered the room from. So there was no window to the exterior of the building or to outside, and we could not open the curtains as people could walk by. I did not consider this a 4 star room and found it overpriced. Also as it was hot outside the central courtyard felt like a greenhouse. Make sure you ask for an exterior facing room.

Good location within walking distance. Car parking expensive but most city hotels are Wifi wasn't working whilst we there (2 nights over Easter) and there seemed no urgency to get fixed - was told it was nothing to do with the hotel and sub-contracted out. I asked 2-3 times during our stay for an update but got the usual shoulder-shrug, so give up in the end. Front desk staff polite and efficient, breakfast staff much worse. Breakfast is served until 11am - we arrived at 10:40 and the restaurant was probably 20% occupied. We sat at a table that was made for three guests and after getting our coffee (buffet) we were told very curtly, that we had to move as we are only two. The waitress without asking, then took my coat off the back of my chair and proceeded to a table an alternative table for two! We went somewhere else next morning in the town centre and the breakfast was excellent and much cheaper. Overall a very nice hotel - the bed was very comfy. The bathroom whilst clean it is in need of refurbishment. I would stay there again.

They should be refilling it till 10.30 especially since they charge so much for it. The food prices at the bar were also ridicilous. The rooms aren't bad, but they were built in 1990 and are in need of refurbishment. The towels in the bathroom were threadbare, something akin to what you find in a trucker stop on the A1 outside Milton Keynes. There were also no slippers. The main restaurant was closed during the afternoon, which would not have been a problem in itself were the bar restaurant also not very limited in options at that time. If you come to the bar/restaurant area at 3pm and hungry, you'll be disappointed. All of these things grate a little when you are paying in the region of 200 Euros per night for a 4-star hotel. Finally, the 20 charge per night for the car park didn't sit well with me and seemed like a money-grab.

The ambiance in the hotel was very pleasant, the staff friendly, and the building nice. The breakfast was very good, and even if a little pricey at 20 Euros the selection and quality made up for it. The spaces in the car park were bigger than what you typically find in France, which is good news for those with larger vehicles or kids. The main restaurant in the hotel was excellent, as were the white fluffy bathrobes which were provided in the room.

As is to be expected, if you are driving there, the parking entrance is quite narrow and, given the one-way street set up and angle of the turn, tricky to negotiate especially in a larger car. Breakfast was serviceable but not quite on the same level as the other meals.

The property was very interesting because of the atrium and the repurposed historical setting. The hotel room was spacious, including the en-suite bathroom, although the shower-tub was more serviceable than inviting. Our business meetings went well and the location was great for walking around the heart of Lille for a few hours of down time. Dinners and lunches were excellent. A bit corporate and rather soulless

Clean and comfortable. Spacious room but unfortunately overlooking the car park rather than the 'lagoon'.

Food and drink options are pricey.

Super location, walking distance to central Lille, easy to park and easy to reach major roads in the morning.

Didn’t enjoy the cold shower in the morning but our stay was too short to worry about it. I’d assume that it was a one off though.
