Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Older hotel. When we first arrived, we were given two extremely small basic rooms off of a very small ground floor courtyard. We weren’t able to open the window coverings without being exposed to people in the courtyard. Kept them closed, therefore very claustrophobic. We could barely move inside the room. We asked if we could change rooms and they immediately moved us for the subsequent nights to bright rooms on the third floor with windows opening to the street. They were newly renovated and very nice/much larger. This was very much appreciated and made a huge difference to our stay.

Not a perfect but generally okay bathroom. Weak and unstable WiFi in the room.
The location is great, the hotel is very nice and comfortable, staff is polite and pleasant to communicate

The room lacked any sort of soundproofing. If you have the bad luck of having noisy next-door guests, say goodbye to your peace. The room was miniature and was always somehow super hot, even though the heating was off, so i had to sleep with the window open, but i guess not many people will see this as a flaw.

A really good price. Room is super tiny, but who cares? It is only for sleeping. Near 2 different subway lines and tons of bars and restaurants nearby (including a few michelin starred ones).

Humidity during rainy days
This was my second stay in this hotel. Very convenient location, friendly and helpful staff and good breakfast. This time the room was pretty spacious and on the building with elevator.

Quite small rooms. The location was bit hard to find at first.
The rating was done by my 20 years old son and his friend. Excellent location, 2 minutes from the metro, cute. good breakfast Very kind staff.

My only regret is that I didn’t stay there longer.

Lack of toiletries, coffee, tea. Bare minimum supplied. Bathroom very small. These are minor issues though.
Great location, near Metro and shops, cafes, bars in Malais. Quiet road. Very helpful reception. Checkout at 12pm is a bonus, also leaving luggage is available.

The price is a little high for the size of the room. However that is the going rate in Paris unfortunately. Otherwise very hard to find fault.
This hotel is still my preferred choice when in Paris. Great staff, thoughtful breakfast, clean rooms. The location is great and close to metro. You can't go wrong staying in this hotel. Big shout out to Matteus who arranged restaurant bookings in advance for us.

Room was small, but the square footage was listed on booking. I would have been better off getting a room with double twin beds and putting them together. My kids were in one of those and it was bigger and had a bathtub with a shower. The room we had only had a double bed with a tiny shower. There was no shelf in the shower so you had to set everything outside the shower and open the door to get to it .
The hotel is off of the main street on a quiet little side road. Seemed a little sketchy at night but ended up being safe. Very good breakfast served in basement. Rooms were quiet and clean Just a bit small. Lots of hot water for the shower and the AC was incredible.

The design of the room is a bit too basic, feels a bit like a room in a dorm, so I wouldn’t want to stay there for more than a night or too.
Pretty simple and no-nonsense room with all the basic you need for a night or two. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Convenient location.
