Room decor isn’t that great. Small window. Strange neon round light on rough white painted walls. Size is adequate but lighting and feel of them is extremely basic. Breakfast at nearly €11 is a bit pricey. They don’t offer complimentary late check out but charge €20 for up to two hours. I paid over €120 per night in the end.

Bed was comfortable and clean. Nice to have a bathtub. And kettle. Communal lounge area is nice (had a drink there w a friend). Location is good and look of hotel fine - on a quiet-ish side street.

My corner room was tiny. Other rooms seem bigger though. Hot water in the shower was erratic with temperature ranging from too hot to cool in repeated circles of few seconds. The food at the bar is essentially frozen microwavable supermarket food at restaurant prices (but admittedly tastes fine). The same person usually attends both the reception desk and the bar which means that it can take a while before you manage to even order food/drinks (but the staff is always super friendly and comitted to serve).

Very helpfull and friendly staff, very good breakfast, comfortable bed, good location at walking distance of most sites. Good value for money compared to other offerings in the centre of Lyon, but still expensive for what it is.

The parking charges were not made clear before booking. Only after confirming the booking by card, without a refund being possible, was there any indication of parking charges. Even so the first paperwork suggested parking reservations were necessary. The hotel later said reservations were not possible but even then, NO mention of the parking charges were ever made clear until we were checking out. I raised all this with the reception but their response was that they could not be responsible for anything that bookings.com advertised or otherwise didn't! All this left a sour taste for us. Up front inclusive charges but please not below the belt Ryanair tactics.

    OK but nothing particularly good

    - My usual complaint about beds in Europe, in general...they're too hard. We both wake up with sore backs. :-( - 14 euros per day for parking - wi-if is not secure, so don't do any banking, etc. online. Also, we had to re-sign in on each device every time we returned to the room....not a deal breaker, but annoying.

The location was within walking distance of everything - old town, the basilica, the fine art museum, even Starbucks! The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly, even helping with getting wi-fi on my new phone. The room was clean and felt safe. I would just forwarn people, if you can't do stairs, be sure to ask for an accessible room. Our floor had several rooms level with the elevator, but we had to go up another 6-7 stairs for our room (and many others). I'm guessing it's the same on each floor, but we did not look to confirm.

The check-in staff was inattentive causing a long wait for service, and major delays in accessing the elevators when we arrived did not make a good impression. However, the elevator situation improved the next day. The room was clean and the beds comfortable, but the room was small and lacked decent chairs to sit. Ceilings in this hotel are quite low (< 8 ft, even in the halls and lobby) giving a cramped feeling to it. Thin towels; no hand towels. Overall, not up to the standards of other Campanile hotels we have stayed at.

The hotel has a good location within two blocks of the Rhone. There is an OK selection of restaurants nearby, but for the good restaurant scene most people will want to walk across the Rhone to the west bank, where the selection is much better.

Hotel room was "basic": no wardrobes or drawers, safe, fridge, etc. 2 towels only. Location is pretty "seedy" - day and night - be careful when you walk back at night from the metro. "New Lyon" is really pretty boring

Bed was comfy, staff were polite, metro is nearby as is bridge to Presq'Isle and the tourist office. Nice market on Saturday on the Rhone East bank very near hotel.

The parking will be a bit small if you get with a large car

Friendly staff: follow their tips to find a good restaurant! The hotel is very well located. You do not need the car to get anywhere in the city center. There are some cool ship-bars("peniches") by the river, less than 5 min. away

Couldn't there be a proper cup in the room for tea/coffee making? Had to buy my own cup because the paper one was too flimsy.

Given it was the Festival of Lights, price was very high compared to the value the hotel represents. We checked the base room rates for non-peek periods, which looks reasonable.

Location in a somewhat seedy part of the city. Hard to find decent restaurant. Ended up at a local Asian place and had quite a good meal but absolutely no atmosphere - like an Asian McDonald's but better food.

Facility was very nice, usual Campanile style, comfortable, clean, well appointed. No parking right there but just a couple of blocks away is public underground that was fine. Staff very polite and helpful as usual with this chain.

The street itself is a little bit shabby and surrounding restaurants seem pretty average but if you go for a 5 min walk you can get to some good Boulangeries and such. Most of the really nice restaurants are on the other side of town but renting a bike will get you anywhere fast..

Nice twin room with good aircon, bathroom was very clean and tidy. Good noise cancellation between rooms too. Good area close to both sides of town.Good wifi

The parking is paid, 12 euros per day. The hotel rooms have very small windows and you feel like in prison and there are no balconies. A bad smell on corridors and other common areas. Doesn't look as in photos.

The only good point is that the hotel is walking distance from the city center and all main landmarks in Lyon.

One of the staff members was rude, as soon as we arrived. I asked him for a quiet room: he told me it wasn't the best idea to choose this hotel in the centre of the city. I wasn't impressed with the staff in general: they weren't welcoming. for example, they never greeted you unless you greeted them first. The 3rd floor has steps in the middle of the hallway: ingenious design for a hotel. Our doors bang when being shut.

The proximity to the centre. It was cheap.
