Great if you have a car. Nice staff, good breakfast and close to the tiny port of St Goustan.

The hotel is actually closer to the old port in St Goustan, slightly out of Auray centre. Better to aim for there by car. We enjoyed the walk down into the old port, it was well worth it! However I can see this being a problem, a hill back up to the hotel and I suppose a fair distance.

Quiet, clean with friendly staff. Breakfast was fine while there is a lovely garden to relax in. Parking was easy and it was possible to walk to the old port at St Goustan for a choice of lovely restaurants. The hotel will recommend one for you. There is a highly regarded one right next door though closed when we were there.

The decor could do with a bit of an upgrade. You need to cross a busy road to get to the start of the walk to town.

It was a 20 minute walk from town via a lovely riverside walk and a beautiful view up to the town. The shower was ok and the bathroom spacious. Breakfast was ok with ample choice and you could have sat outside if you wished.

Our room was over the breakfast area - so a bit of noise and gorgeous smell of coffee and croissants woke us too early!!!! Also smokers tended to go into the garden area right under our window - perhaps smokers could be directed away from the building a bit?

Comfortable beds, good shower, fairly quiet and a pleasant stroll (15mins) from the lively port area and town. Good breakfast available, gardens. Parking. Rooms and towels cleaned/ changed each day if you want.

For a short stay a functional hotel.

The hotel itself is outside of the village at the main road, although there is not to much traffic. The building and the rooms is a bit used and needs some refurbishment. The surrounding "park" is in fact a garden, which is not of very much use at all.

Auray is a great village, offers a lot of atmosphere and is a great place for a stay. There are also plenty of options for excursions in the neighbourhood, so I can only highly recommend Auray. The owners of the hotel are very friendly, offer good service.

This is a fine small ⅔ star hotel with limited facilities, but it's a perfect stopping off point if you have a long journey, it's not luxurious, but it is perfectly good, friendly family(?) run business. Was impressed when they offered us each a bottle of water as we were leaving!! – Much appreciated

There was an unpleasant stale, musty odour on entering the premises, this became worse on entering our room, even with a window open. We asked for a room change and were moved to an upstairs "Superior" room. This room was better, but only better, there was still this odour around the whole of the building. Also it was close to impossible manoeuvre between the wash basin into the shower with the bathroom being so small and we are not overweight.

The Breakfast was good and location was convenient.

The stuff was not very friendly or helpful. It was impossible to open the washbasin, we couldn't brush our teeth in a normal way and had to spit our used water in the shower and toilet - not delicious at all. When we politely pointed it to the Hotel stuff the only answer we received was "What shall we do, we cannot help you, but thanks for the information" - is this a kind way to make guests feel welcome?!? So we kept on spitting water in the toilet and shower :-( Not even a small friendly coffee was offered as a compensation. Sad that guests are treated that unfriendly. We cannot recommend it - in contrast to all other Hotels we stayed at in Brittany! The other ones were great!

Reading other reviews I think did we stay at the same hotel. First impressions that the carpet to the first floor from reception was either not clean, or very tired. The small room was quite dusty and could do with a thorough clean. Fixed furniture was chipped and needed replacing. Bedside lamp near door broken. Need I go on! When we left the receptionist did not ask us if we had a good stay, so possibly she was aware of the room condition. On a previous visit to Auray stayed at the Best Western, Hotel du Loch, which was excellent. Price difference very little, so why diidn't we stay there on this occasion - we will next time.

Very tight space in the room - like being in a box with a tiny window - not much light getting in - makes you feel claustrophobic

Couldn't fault it for the price.

Great location near a lively port with a great choice of places to eat. Also near Auray town centre. Our room was lovely, large and airy and overlooking the garden. The bed was 6 feet wide and very comfortable. The bathroom was great too.

Breakfast could have been a bit better for the price. We had room (No 17) but the room above seemed to accommodate some very heavy people, who enjoyed 'stamping' when moving around their room.

Helpful staff, clean, warm with great bed. Nice garden and very convenient off road parking. Handy for local area.

Very good value for money. We got a small room but big enough, and the bathroom was bigger than expected. Good breakfast, also much better than expected with a broad variety.

Leaving, we felt so at home there.

Location is excellent for visiting the Morbihan area, close to both local and national connections by car. Short walk to some great restaurants and scenic riverside paths. We asked for a kettle prior to arriving and the lovely owners provided it together with all the bits we needed to make ourselves drinks when necessary. Traditional Bretan breakfast was a great start to the day!

Breakfasts were poor quality, compared to other places we have stayed in in France. Not good value, or appetising.

Very helpful staff. Nice outlook on garden, provided you can get a room facing that way.

We booked a room for 4 people. They gave us a room that was hardly a double room. The two additional beds made impossible to move around in the room. Also, according to the website, the staff should speak 6 languages, but they only speak french.

Room 26 has sloped walls, mind your head, motorcycle parking was on booking.com free! But when we were paying the landlady wanted €18 for two nights. Until we showed her the booking . There is no restaurant in this place , you have to go into the town. Twenty minute walk. The toilet also on our arrival had two less than half rolls of toilet paper. I could go on and on,

Leaving, . The young man at front desk did try his best to help.
