Room was cold with no way of turning up the heating. Bathroom very old and tired and well below standard expected even for a budget hotel. Shower attachment broken and no plug in sink. Toilet old and stained. Silicon around bath old and stained. Tile grout falling out. Very shabby! Room was clean but let down by bathroom.

Centrally located for visiting the city. Helpful staff.

The hotel is on a Main Street so it can get noisy at night.

The location of the hotel is excellent. It is in walking distance to most sites. The hostess is very agreeable.

The lighting on the landing was a little strange and the decor dated, but neither of these things were deal breakers. Had a great stay.

Excellent location, friendly staff, very clean, very quiet, good value for money. Stayed in a heatwave and could open the window at night to keep things cool.

the hotel is a bit old, but we were pleasantly surprised by how everything had been well maintained.

the hotel is right at the city center and has a parking space. the rooms were comfortable, quite and clean, with good beds. the hotel was able to accommodate for our family with three kids without any problems and at a fair price. the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Not a criticism of the hotel's facilities, but after arriving by train mid-morning the temporary storage of our bags was a problem owing to the hotel's reception not opening until 3pm. The Gare Rive Droit has no locker facilities, so expect to be carrying them unless an alternative arrangement is made.

Very warm and friendly reception from the charming lady proprietor. The hotel has a Napoleonic theme in the reception area reflecting the name of the hotel. Our room was very comfortable and quiet with an enclosed balcony affording views of the street below towards the splendid Hotel de Ville. The breakfast was excellent and very good value for money; a choice of pastries, cereals, meats and cheese on offer as well as hot and cold drinks, all under the the supervision of a portrait of Napoleon's bête noire, Admiral Lord Nelson.

Pillows were way too overstuffed and large. Impossible to use without getting neck pains - so we had to improvise our own from spare clothes and duvet.

Breakfast was great. Loads of choice, peaceful and a highlight. Room was fab. However it is a noisy street at night and windows must be closed to get any sleep - not great in high summer.

Nothing, it was as expected. Ah yes, one of the bed mattresses was really end of life, it was like a hole lying in that bed My husband had to sleep in that one and didn't sleep well.

Nice and clean, big room. Nothing fancy but had everything. Dogs allowed. Very good location and garage nearby. We had already parked when we noticed that the hotel had private parking you could book, but the one we got was just around the corner and had surveillance. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but it seemed good.

The shower needed a bit of maintenance to keep it upright.

It has very good central location. It's a well preserved older hotel that feels comfortable. The best thing was the superb breakfast.

The bedroom and bathroom were 'tired' and could do with redecorating. However they were clean and otherwise well maintained. we would have liked 'off street' parking but were unaware that the hotel had this facility until our arrival when there were no spaces free in the garage and the car was parked in the street overnight on a meter.

Room was good, bed most comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for our requirements.

This is a budget hotel, so you get what you pay for!

Good ratio value/money, very nice receptionist, super location, comfy bed, blackout curtains, overall clean, nice bed sheets & towels. So taking into consideration this “category” of hotels (within a budget), we were pleased! Parking is available on the streets around (with extra pay) or in the Hotel de Ville (underground parking) - with a stamp from the hotel there is a price reduction.

The hotel hasn't changed all the time we have been using it and the decor in the public parts and certainly the room we have occupied now for a number of times needs changing. But it's I think, a small Independent hotel and that sort of work costs a lot of money.

We have stayed at this hotel about 10 times just overnight. We use it because of it's location. and we can put our car in the Hotel de'ville sub. car park. The owner is always pleased to see us. and the beds are clean. I think the price of the breakfast has gone down , but still lots of choice but some of things are more for tea time than breakfast. You also have to remember that it is a very reasonable priced hotel with the added bonus of a lift.

Don't be put off by the 2star status. This hotel is far better than motorway chains that usually class themselves as 2 star.

We liked the closeness to the city centre and this hotel could not be better placed. Several reviewers have commented on this being a rather old fashioned property. We would say that the decor and facilities are rather retro but that's not a problem. Think of 1970's furnishings, turquoise bathroom suite, chequered wall papers and you are in a quality hotel that's pleasantly different to new build hotels. The lady on reception was charming and gave us a warm welcome. The bathroom provided lots of extras such as toothbrushes, shaving set and the usual toiletries. The room and bathroom were super clean. Breakfast was very good with a large choice in a stylish breakfast room. Parking in the Hotel de Ville underground carpark was very close. just a 2 minute walk. We would stay here on our next visit. Beds were comfortable with generous pillows and duvets.

hotel is a little tired in places, but nothing to complain about. reception area is very dark and could do with a face-lift.

excellent location. I pre-booked parking in the garage (max.5 cars), but only possible with normal size car. walking distance for all sightseeing, restaurants and bars. a few local possibilities for breakfast. reception staff very helpful. the bar was never open, but the hotel was quiet (November).

The breakfast was basic with coldcuts, spreads and yoghurt in little fridges. breakfast was not included and was not worth the 11 euro. Better have breakfast at a french café in town.

Great location just off the main points of interest in Rouen. Great restaurants and parking garage just around the corner.
