We had a great stay at Chambre d'Hote Saint Malo. The hotel was beautiful and breakfast was delicious and very mindfully curated. The hosts were so friendly and couldn't have been more attentive. They stayed late to welcome us after a late ferry and were really accomodating with my 6 year old daughter. Would definitely recommend!

Delightful turn of the century house in a nice area of St Malo and near the ferry terminal. The proprietors were very charming and helpful, getting an extension lead for us to charge our e-bikes. We were in the lower ground floor room which suited us well as it had a sitting area (with a kettle and a fridge - perfect) and we could leave our bikes outsidee the room in the side garden. Next morning we had a delicious al fresco breakfast before we cycled off to the ferry.

The property was perfectly located for wish to walk around to the old city and close to a shopping area and restaurants. The room was spacious with access to a garden area out the back. Breakfast was good in itself, but made better by home-cooked treats each day. The property itself has a lot of character and history.

There was nothing we didn't like

Very nice room with private entrance. Walking distance to the beach, but an easy drive to the old city. Parking inside the gate. Excellent breakfast with very attentive hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed.

I would prefer fluffier pillows. The pillows were very flat, but that may be the French style.

The charme of the hotel and the kindness of the staff were truly exceptional, and the breakfast was delicious!!

My wife and I slept in the room with garden view in the lower part of the main building. In hindsight, we perhaps should have chosen a different room since the bed was not very comfortable for us. The double bed had two single mattresses, possibly a bit outdated and quite sagging, along with a fairly noisy slatted base. A good, thick, firm double mattress topper would likely have easily solved the issue. Aside from this, the hotel is recommended and worth revisiting :)

Perfect hosts, lovely breakfast served beautifully. Good location. The room was a good size, nice shower, comfortable bed although low to the floor.

I booked a double room with garden view & was very disappointed to find it was a basement room which had very little view of the garden. I wouldn’t have booked it if I’d known as I don’t enjoy basement rooms. I think to avoid any misunderstanding , it should be noted in the advertising that it is a basement room so that people can take that into account when booking.

The quality and beauty of the main house was impressive and exceeded my expectations. We had a nice room in the basement which met our needs as a family of three with a small child able to sleep in a slightly separate but connected area. The hosts were extremely welcoming and kind.

The location is about 10-15 minutes by car from the old town, so we had to get a taxi back after dinner. However we chose it because there was free guaranteed off-street parking, which is difficult to come by in the old town.

It was a small, comfortable traditional house, very clean, great shower, simple, a short walk from St Malo intra-muros and St Servan beaches, easy to find, a lovely garden well cared for, a fab breakfast set us up for the day, our hosts were welcoming, warm & friendly. Service was very good. Highly recommend this place.

Lovely welcome from the host. The room was clean and spacious and had the bonus of a pretty outside space. Nice breakfast with fresh fruit from the apricot tree in the garden! Good location for the old city and 10 mins from the ferry port.

Gated access a little tight for our estate car .
