Wonderful stay at an Old World inn
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Superior Double Room
    • Stayed 6 nights

We would have liked to have access to hot tea or coffee during the day, and to the refrigerator to keep some of the things we brought back.

We stayed for 6 nights. The location was great with plenty of free parking is a private lot. We walked to the town center every day, though it is at the top of a steep hill, so probably not walkable for the disabled. It is well worth the walk-- besides the lovely views, you pass the Miraculous Fountain of St. Quitterie. Also, the inn is just a block away from the St. Quitterie church. Our hostess, Pascal, did not speak English, but we did OK with the translation app. She has a very friendly cat- but may be an issue if you have allergies. She was very welcoming with lots of good tips about things to see in the area, and we really enjoyed visiting with her and learning about the local culture. She also did some laundry for us! Our room was comfortable, with Old World charm and decor-- you really feel like you're in someone's French family home. We loved the breakfast. Pascal served us a selection of croissants, bread, cheese, yogurt, fruit and fresh-squeezed OJ, and of course great coffee. We were able to play games in the evening in the large dining room. Because of the cold weather, we couldn't take advantage of the pool/back yard, but it was lovely to look at. All in all it was a wonderful week, and met our expectations for a small town B&B infused with local culture.

A good night's sleep in an elegant and stylish home.

    Nothing.

This accommodation was a brief stop en route to Bordeaux airport. It's location close to the town centre was ideal for walking to the town. A good night's sleep before a car journey next day. The whole house is elegant and stylish and our room was large, well furnished and full of atmosphere. Madame Bertho was warmly welcoming. It helped that we could speak some French.

An interesting, historic place to visit, with a very nice host.

Because it was warm, it would have been nice to have a fan in the room (I understand that air conditioning is not possible) and a simple single sheet on the bed rather than a warm duvet. I wish that the host had shown us where the pool was and whether or not we could use it. We had no idea how to find it.

I liked the historic nature of the old Château and it’s location

This b&b should not be allowed on booking. The house and furniture are decrepid. The mattress was old and very hard. The toilet was inside the room and only separated from it by a filmsy curtain! This stay was a deception for us and we will certainly never return. You can stay much better in a simple hotel.

    Breakfast was all right.
