Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaNothing for us but some may find the stairs to the bedroom a bit steep.
Very comfortable Villandry village cottage. It is full of character and charm. Within walking distance to the Chateau. Communication with Maxime was great. We highly recommend

United KingdomThere was nowhere to store provisions, the only available cabinet we could see was locked with no key. A non slip mat in the shower would have been beneficial. Some smaller plates (side plates) would have been useful.
Lovely little apartment tucked away from the hustle and bustle to return to after a day of exploring the local area. Parking provided. A short walk to local amenities. Very clean, comfy bed and settee, and lovely bathroom with his and hers stone sinks. Plenty of appliances for coffee making, cooking etc and even a washing machine. A view of Chateau Villandry from the bedroom was a bonus. Well equipped, on the whole, the fan in the lounge was brilliant and needed. The host was very friendly, in touch by phone and available if needed.

BelgiumThis was a fantastic place to stay. It was well insulated (great in winter), recently updated, and incredibly clean. The kitchen had everything I needed. The directions take you right to the property, and parking and key retrieval were incredibly easy (which isn't the case in other places I've stayed). Probably one of the best places I've stayed.

United StatesWhat a lovely place to stay and great value. Pretty view of the castle garden gates and castle out the windows and right by an ancient church. Parking was tight but doable and right by the door. Such a pretty little apartment with everything we needed and very comfortable. Bedroom and pretty bath were upstairs. You could walk right to a bakery and restaurants and then up to the castle entrance. Just a wonderful location and so very charming and convenient. We loved every minute of our time there. The gardens of Villandry are just magnificent and the pretty castle was very enjoyable and interesting with gorgeous floral bouquets scattered around. I would love to stay there again and would recommend it highly. In June the roses were at peak bloom and the day spent in the garden was truly unforgettable.

United KingdomPerfect! Small but lovely with everything you need. Bakery just round the corner has great bread, self-service market with local produce and pizza a 10-min walk through the village, and self-service goats cheese 5 mins in the car. Lovely castle and walk by the river just a few mins on foot. Azay le Rideau and Langeais less then 15 mins by car. Perfect for visiting les chateaux.

NetherlandsNothing.
Vue sur Château is a perfect holiday house in the village of Vilandry. It's small, but it has everything needed for a comfortable stay for a couple or family with kids. We stayed for two weeks. The house is exactly as advertised. The view of the church and château is lovely. There's no private outdoor space, but who would want to stay at home in these surroundings? There's parking right next to the front door.

SwitzerlandThe living room and kitchen become a bit crowded if you use the “canapé lit”.
The view on the castle is beautiful, especially when the castle is illuminated at night. The bedroom and bathroom upstairs are very beautiful too. The host is very kind and responsive.
