The room was small as you might typically find in Europe

The hotel is a converted mansion, sitting on a hill with a commanding view of the town and Valley. The restaurant had very good food and an amazing view. The bar was excellent. The grounds are lovely and had a swimming pool. It has a small elevator and a lovely, large elegance staircase. The staff was wonderful.

No staff onsite to greet us or there for night, text message sent to say keys were in an envelope on the reception desk. No food or bar open, we arrived on a Sunday.

The service of the food in the restaurant was too quickly, we had not finished our apero and the dinner was already served The airco makes too much strange noises

Having to wait until 17.00 for the hotel to open, to book in, and then a further hour for the bar to open, to be able to get a drink. I had travelled for over 6 hours, on a motorbike, in 34° of heat and I was very unimpressed to find the hotel locked and bolted with not a single member of staff in attendance.

I messaged to ask about my Kindle which I had left under the pillow. Am still waiting for an answer. Hence the decision to rate it 7, not higher.

Very clean, lovely comfy bed, great bathroom. Good breakfast in the morning. Nice old villa looking over the town, pretty terrace and very smart dining area.

Restaurant was not up to expectations. The tartare de beuf tasted like it had ketchup in it. It came out pink in color versus red.

The pool and terrace bar were closed over lunchtime which was when I planned to use them. Check in was only after 17h.

The location was beautiful, great views, nice walks nearby, very peaceful. The pool was nice and the room was clean and comfortable with nice decor. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The whole hotel was closed down between 2pm-5pm, so in case you reach before than 5PM, no request or access to the property is available, we were lucky enough to have a car for ourselves where we rested and waited for hotel staff to open the hotel for us. This is quite weird as normally hotels do not accept your early check-in request (which is understandable as per policy) but they provide the property access and where you can keep your stuff and just be relax, Also, the whole property was built quite old which had lot of noises at night when some walks on any floor. In the beginning you may need perfume or good scent if you are weak hearted. Odd timing of check in and check out.

Location and amenities were good at the property, close to market and town centre. View from the restaurant was spectacular.

The location is not close to town, so you still need to take your car if you wish to visit the village. toilet too small and room is big old. But for a stopover not much choice.
