Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe 25 euro price tag for what is essentially is a self service continental breakfast! Scrambled eggs on a hot plate but other than that cold meats, pastries, cereal, fruit and yogurt. I would have expected far more from a hotel focusing on food and for the price charged.
Hotel is beautiful...set in a picture post card setting. Our room was luxurious and comfortable with a large modern bathroom. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant where the food and service were excellent. The pool area is nice and relaxing all in all a lovely place to stay.

NetherlandsDining Breakfast was included. Quality was decent, but the selection felt limited compared to similar properties. Some items, like eggs or cappuccino, had to be requested — something we only discovered on our third day after watching other guests ask, as staff didn’t inform us. We didn’t have dinner here, so can’t comment on that aspect. Service Staff were consistently friendly and helpful. That said, cocktails were a let-down: €16 each, but made without much flair — no garnish. Mocktails also just seemed to be re-purposed fruit juice from breakfast.
Our family (two adults, one child, and a dog) stayed in the Junior Suite Manoir for a short summer break, and overall, it was a charming and peaceful experience. Arrival was smooth. Parking was plentiful, and there’s even a car charger right by reception, which was a real bonus. Check-in was swift and efficient. The suite itself has a romantic, almost wedding-preparation feel, with a carpeted floor and a large hallway furnished with two chairs. The main bathroom is well-lit with a large mirror perfect for makeup application. Air-conditioning worked efficiently and quietly, and the TV (wireless) functioned without issue. Coffee maker was spotless, and both the room and linens were immaculately clean. A pleasant surprise was the thoughtful welcome bags for both our child and our dog — a lovely touch that set a warm tone. The pool was one of our highlights: not too cold, never crowded (often just us), and surrounded by clean loungers. The jacuzzi could be adjusted to the temperature we liked — a small but appreciated detail. Toilets by the pool were clean and well-maintained. The hotel grounds never felt busy, adding to a sense of seclusion and privacy. The property is tranquil and ideal for bringing a dog. Lovely riverside walks are nearby, and the hotel’s own grounds are worth exploring. The location is convenient by car, with good access to the surrounding area. Plenty of free car chargers available (not just Tesla), and ample parking space. Overall Château de Noirieux offered a serene, comfortable stay with excellent privacy and friendly service. A few shortcomings (limited breakfast variety, uninspired cocktails) keep it from a perfect score, but for families, couples, or anyone wanting a quiet escape in the Loire Valley, it’s a strong choice.

PortugalThe back ground music - just switch it off
Travel Journal — July Evening at Château de Noirieux Leaving behind the industrial elegance of Bilbao, we journeyed northeast through the shifting landscapes of France, slowly trading the rugged Basque coast for the serene Loire Valley. The air grew softer, the light more golden. By late afternoon, we arrived at Château de Noirieux — nestled quietly near Briollay, like a secret kept by the trees. The castle welcomed us with quiet grace: ivy-clad stone walls, manicured gardens, and a hush in the air that felt sacred. We were led to our room — each corner infused with old-world charm and gentle touches of comfort — before descending for dinner as the sun set beyond the Loire. Dinner was unforgettable. A sequence of delicate, inventive courses — seasonal, local, and deeply French — each one paired impeccably with wines selected by sommelier Martin. He appeared at intervals with stories behind each bottle, his voice calm and reverent, treating each wine like a poem. One vintage, from a nearby vineyard, tasted of sun-warmed stones and distant rain. And then, as if the evening hadn’t already unfolded like a dream, we met a couple seated near us — from New York. They were graceful, luminous in the way some people are when they’ve lived richly. Conversation began over shared compliments and lingered for hours, unhurried, weaving between our lives and theirs. Their fathers had been architects — creators of lines and light — and now they lived in what had once been a cancer treatment castle NY themselves. There was something surreal in that. Stories of family, travel, loss, reinvention. They listened deeply, and we spoke openly — the kind of conversation that rarely happens unless you’re far from home and the night is generous. By the time we parted, the stars had filled the sky above the château. The old stone walls seemed to hold our words in their silence. We returned to our room walking slowly, grateful, aware that some nights are not just experiences, but gifts.

United KingdomIt felt a little corporate as opposed to a more "old school" Chateau, and we expected a bath in our room and did not have one, and there were wet patches on the carpet in our room.
Beautiful setting; the goats, sheep and donkeys were a real bonus, the garden was lovely to sit in and dinner was reasonably priced and tasty.

PolandA few downsides: the room was quite small, with barely enough space to open a suitcase comfortably. Also, the hallway light stayed very bright throughout the night and shone into the room through the door, making it hard to achieve proper darkness. Installing motion sensors or dimmer lighting could greatly improve this.
Château De Noirieux is a truly refined and elegant hotel. The surroundings are absolutely stunning — breathtaking views from the terrace, a peaceful atmosphere, and beautifully maintained grounds. The pool area was quiet and perfect for relaxation. The on-site restaurant was excellent, with a Michelin-starred chef delivering a memorable dining experience.

PortugalI would like more involvement from the staff, otherwise there was a feeling of being completely left to our own devices, not in the best sense. If we came and looked for the staff, they were nice and tried to help, but you really had to look and ask. It is also strange that there is no connection with the staff from the rooms, and in order to report or find out something you have to go to another reception building in the cold.
Incredibly beautiful castle, church, territory. View of the lake, goats, donkeys, sheep...a fairy tale! Fresh rooms, very clean, comfortable big bed. Delicious exquisite food at breakfast and dinner in the restaurant.

United KingdomWe had booked a room with a bath and got a shower only. (Though they kindly brought us a baby bath). This relates to our room only (11)- if you use the rainfall shower the water pools over the edge as it doesn't drain properly. The toilet flush sprays water leaving everything wet. One towel was stained though it was hopefully clean. No WiFi connection in our room, no phone either- you were expected to call for room service etc. The aircon system was very loud and refused to turn off. Would be useful to have a 'do not disturb sign'. There is gravel everywhere so bags have to be carried and not suitable for prams. Would be great to have a kettle and a cup/mug for the room. It would be nice to have some lighter options for lunch too as the lunch and dinner menus were the same. Sometimes something simple can be just as elegant. Breakfast is limited for coeliacs. Never managed to have a hot cup of tea. All minor things.
The location was fabulous- lots of fresh air and green. The bed and sofa were comfortable. The room clean and crisp. Sweet gift left for our son. Very attentive regarding dining and coeliac disease. Loved the pony and her animal friends. Staff friendly but understaffed.

United Kingdom-
We had a great time in this chateau with our dog. The place is just amazing: very quiet area, the room was super comfortable and clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful (helped us carry our luggage upstairs and find two glasses of wine at midnight 😂). The place is also very dog-friendly (dogs are allowed in the restaurant and a welcome kit for the dog was left in the room). Thank you so much! We'll definetly come back!
