How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewWe had the pleasure of spending one night at Château de Faugs with our three young children. From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel incredibly welcome, and were warm, attentive, and kind. The château itself is a true gem, a beautifully preserved historical masterpiece filled with charm and character with the most beautiful views. Yet, the rooms are surprisingly modern, spacious, and exceptionally comfortable. For families, especially with younger children, this place is amazing. There were toys and games thoughtfully provided both inside and outside the château, which kept the kids happily entertained and gave us a chance to unwind and take in the beautiful surroundings. Our children were already asking when we could return before we had even left. We can't wait to return!
The pool was slightly chilly due to the weather, but once in, the kids had a great time splashing around
Thank you dear Anjali, good vacation in France

Verified reviewAmazing location and building. We actually lived inside a 18th c. chateau (though built much later...). Great common room, billiard room, dining room, etc. The breakfast was amazing !!! Every visitor group was set up in a different dining place with plenty of fruit, croissants and pastries available, with a wide cheese selection and fresh orange juice. The host (and his family) are adorable !
Nothing really. The Internet could be better but we're talking about an old building that cannot be rewired, so WiFi is the only solution and it cannot go through thick stone walls like here.
Many thanks dear friends and good life in spain and grece! Hope to see you again on place next summer..!🥰👌👏👏👏

Verified reviewThe place is beautiful and could be worth the drive. Scenic route and views. The chateau is also a beauty with its interesting furniture.
The two girls who welcomed us first were really nice and friendly, but the owner(?) himself was arrogant and unwelcoming. He made us feel bad about having dogs with us although I had exchanged messages specifically about them and asked if it's ok. There were many dogs at the chateau that night, so he had booked a toom for us where he didn't want dogs to enter. He also made us feel like we shouldn't really be in the room, either. There are many ways to tell people to be careful with antiques — perhaps he could have suggested a nice picnic in the yard, or anything — but he was all about making the guests feel like you are a nuisance. Oh well, a stay we will remember. But I do not recommend.
You were destroyed when you arrived on place at midnight instead of 8 pm , with 3 dogs instead of one , making noise when all the guests of the castle were sleeping. Then i cut the lights at 0h30 AM instead of 11pm because of your very late arrival...never make again more than 1000 km in one day...you will arrive on time and in a better psychological form ...thanks for the other people

Verified reviewIncredible location Castle full of history Very friendly tenant (from a French noble family) Fantastic landscape and view Spacious and very high standard room(also full of history) Full of books, board games, cards, billard, tennis... New bathroom Incredible tap water and air Surrounded by forest and tracks so you can walk by for a nice trek
Did not really bother us but plan to bring food for the evening if you come beginning of the week (you can use the very good kitchen and you have supermarket at few km)

Verified reviewWe loved the location in nature, yet not far from other places. The whole place is stunning, full of history. There are many activities to do in the castle and around for kids and adults. Our kids forgot that electronics exist :-). The chateau team was amazing, very friendly, and helpful. We loved the breakfast and the setting of the breakfast. We felt at home!
Nothing. Everything was amazing!
So kind from you! Hope to receive your family again at the castle Greetings

Verified reviewFrom the moment we arrived until the time we departed, we were enchanted by the historical charm and warm hospitality of this magnificent hotel. The interior of the hotel is a treasure trove of history. Every corner seemed to have a story to tell. The hosts of Château des Faugs were incredibly kind and accommodating, making us feel right at home from the very beginning. It was like staying with good friends who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. If you are looking for a place to unwind, Château des Faugs is the perfect destination for you. Thank you Camille Pauline and Christoph
I would have liked to see more lounge chairs in front of the castle. I would have enjoyed spending more time relaxing, and admiring the castle view if there were more seating options provided.
Thank you so much dear Stephanie ! It was a pleasure to receive your family on place! Good summer in switzerland and hope to see you back again😘🥰👌👍
