Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomEverything was perfect just some wine glass in the room would be nice. But we could have asked and did not so our fault.
The Chateau was beautiful inside and out. The chateau is traditional with modern bathrooms. The breakfast is excellent and there is ample parking for everyone. The hosts are helpful and charming.

United StatesBeautiful, newly restored chateau. Breakfast in the formal dining room downstairs was lovely. The hosts were very welcoming and took the time to explain to us the history of the Chateau. The bathroom was modern and comfortable. Only a 5 to 10 minute drive from the village. The sound of the sheep in the evening was great.

The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was very spacious, and the serenity of the area was delightful. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

CanadaNothing .
On arrival we discovered my wife had lost her cell phone . Our hosts leaped into action , driving her back to the castle we'd just come from . And were instrumental in it being found and returned . Their bike 'garage' was handy and helpful . Just like the property .

United KingdomEverything was perfect 🙂
The chateau was perfect in every way…. Our room was beautifully appointed with lovely views across the grounds. The hosts were extremely helpful and gave us an overview of the history of the chateau. They also recommended restaurants and booked our evening meal for us. Breakfast was served in the exquisite dinning room. From the moment we arrived we felt at home and will definitely return for a longer visit.

Our stay here was the highlight of our trip to the Loire valley. The chateau is set in a beautiful rural area about 5 minutes drive from Azay- le -rideau.The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was fabulous- very spacious, bright, airy, tasteful decor .Modern bathroom with walk in shower . Breakfast was amazing and served in a beautiful dining room - tables covered with white table cloths- loved the homemade yogurt and granola. This is a very special place- well worth visiting .It felt lovely to stay in a chateau especially as we had visited some beautiful chateaus in the area.We hope to return some day.

United KingdomWe had a problem with mosquitoes, our fault for leaving the window open at night. Hosts were apologetic for not warning us and gave us a spray to use in the room, it was OK after that.
Hosts were friendly and helpful and most welcoming. They suggested great places to eat out and places to visit. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. We will definitely be back !! Thank you

United KingdomWe absolutely loved it, because it is "far from the madding crowd"! But it will not suit anyone who wants a lively hospitality scene nearby. It is beautiful, quiet and out of the way.
Lovely and very helpful couple who own this Chateau. Switched the room we had booked when they realised how unwell my wife was, for one on a lower floor (with no charge for a bigger room as well...very kind). The Chateau is beautifully decorated and stands in fields outside the nearest town. Peaceful and absolutely idyllic! The restaurant they recommended in nearby Azay-le-Rideau was astonishingly good.
