Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Great hotel, centrally located inside the wall of Avignon. Friendly helpful staff. Short walk from the train station and close to most of the key tourists sites in Avignon.

United KingdomWe were initially given an attic room with no windows (there was a skylight). It was extremely hot with poor airconditioning. When we asked to change rooms, we were greeted by apathy, followed by rudeness and aggression by a very hostile member of staff. Other staff members were delightful and, once resolved, we thoroughly enjoyed the remainder of our stay.
Fantastic old building in a great location

FranceRestaurant only two of advertised 6 starters available, main same course unavailable, deserts also missing elements. Why offer if not going to deliver. Our room furniture had lots of chips, drawers stuck and nearly came apart at the join, flaking paint on ceiling. Thought the room coffee and tea making facility could be much better, ie kettle button faulty, hated the cups. The room just needs refreshing.
Location, courtyard so pretty, restaurant building, room size, excellent towels and quality of bedding, liked to sit on the balcony, staff were excellent, knowledgeable, helpful and efficient, Adil on reception gave excellent restaurant recommendations and made reservations for us. Bed very comfortable. Roof terrace and pool also comfortable.

United KingdomOur room had stairs with toilet downstairs and a sloping ceiling , this caused difficulties at night and my partner who is over 6 foot hit his head 4 times. The room was well set out but tired in places( peeling paint). Dinner menu was limited / for us not many everyday meals but it was close to a lot of restaurants.
Location was fantastic/ close to railways and tourist office and in old town. There was a swimming pool and terrace which was nice to use after sightseeing. It was an old building with beautiful courtyard , The buffet breakfast had a very good fresh selection.

United KingdomRoom was a little run down in areas, no milk in room and only a couple of sachets of coffee/tea. The bed was two singles pushed together and drifted apart during the night so this did affect sleep as they didn't appear to be zipped together. No shower over bath so have to hand hold etc so had a few problems showering the whole bathroom and floor which was made worse by the shower screen not being wide enough and water soaking the bathroom floor.
The location and main hotel is absolutely fabulous, the room was a great size with a nice little terrace which had a nice outlook over the garden area. The staff, from reception to the restaurant and bar were very attentive and polite. We had a lovely meal on the terrace and there were plenty of options close by.

FranceOur room was located on the third floor of the ‘old building’. It was a little dated and we had to climb stairs to get to the bedroom area. We didn’t find this room particularly comfortable.
We really enjoyed the use of the pool area and the breakfast was very nice.

United KingdomThe hotel doesn't feel 4*. The old building is really beautiful but unloved. Simple changes could make it much nicer. For example, the furniture is all very dated and cheap, like it came from an office supplier. The only decor on the walls are what look like Aztec rugs - completely out of place. And there are tacky laminated notices everywhere. I didn't spot it when booking but if you look at the first photograph of the swimming pool, it has clearly been photoshopped - presumably to hide the stain around the edge! This hotel could be really beautiful; they need to hire an interior designer.
The staff were welcoming and friendly upon arrival, and someone showed us to our room; the barman at the pool was also pleasant. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The location is perfect if you arrive/leave by train.

AustraliaThe smokers in the dining courtyard during meals was nasty. One of the male receptionists was pretty offhand but maybe he was just having a bad day.
The room was spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. A good selection for breakfast. Convenient for visiting attractions and public transport. Lovely to have a pool during the hot weather. Quiet location despite its proximity to attractions. Lovely to stay in an historic building with so much charm.

AustraliaCheck in was slow and we had to get our luggage to our room in a very tiny, very slow lift. The shower over the bath was terrible - no hook to hang it up high and clunky to use
A beautiful old cloister with lots of history which they could make more of. Our room was in the new part which was a slightly unusual design but was comfortable. Slightly out of the main square area but definitely walkable.
