It's quite a way out of town if you want to do something apart from sit in your hotel room. For an overnight stop driving on holiday it was great.

You can switch off the ventilation and open the window, so no infection risk from recirculated air. Restaurant was really good, with outside seating.

Maybe needs a bit of updating compared to the last Mercure hotel we stayed in but still had a good night with nice meal in restaurant. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed very comfortable.

The only quibble - be very careful if you are choosing an option marked vegetarian on the restaurant menu. The vegetable tart for example is actually made with sardines...! After complaining about this we were not charged but the menu and its labelling need an overhaul.

The dowdy outside of the hotel is deceptive. Inside it is spacious, modern and very pleasant. It has places to work near the bar and restaurant. It also has a gated car park. It is outside of town so there is not much of interest nearby but if you are stopping off for a night for example it is an excellent choice. If you have time and are interested there are some very interesting things to see in Compiègne including the museum and monument of the 1918 and 1940 armistices and the former Nazi internment and deportation camp.

it would have been better if the local tax payable was flagged up to be paid when we checked in rather than on the way out as we thought we had pre paid our bill. However, the staff member dealt with it very well and there was no issue.

Only 2 paper cups in the room - and 2 paper cups in bathroom, so had to re-use paper cups in order to make tea at night and in the morning. Not enough tea bags in room (only green tea and verveine) - had to request more (staff very helpful and friendly and obtained them immediately - thank you). Having proper glasses for water would have been nice. Breakfast OK, but limited selection. Overall, the hotel could do with some updating to make it more attractive for guests.

We had some problems with the elevator, because our card was rejected. It was solved fast at the reception, when we got to the reception

We had a warm welcome upon arrival around midnight, the sleeping cod for our toddler was allready in our room, so we could go straight to bed after arriving in our room. The room was quiet. The breakfast had plenty for us. And the car was parked behind a gate.

Noisy. There was a dog barking most of the night a couple doors down. The restaurant was shut that evening. And we booked a suite but wqs given two interconnecting rooms. The money I paid and what igot in return I would of down better to go to Airbnb
