The room just wasn't as nice as expected and was accessed via a very narrow and steep staircase off the main street. It felt more like a ferry cabin than a contemporary room. The toilet was in a separate room which was tiny and ridiculously hot. When we opened the windows the smell of the restaurants stunk out the room too. The beds felt like they were washed in cheap washing powder too and the main shower room looked dated as well as being very small. We decided to not stay and booked elsewhere as we were very hot and tired from a long drive and didn't feel this was for us with a young child. I wouldn't recommend this place for a long stay.

This hotel is very conveniently located with easy access to the old town of Saumur. There are also restaurants on your doorstep and a large parking area right outside (although you have to pay at certain times). The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. Better as a stop-off than for a long stay.

The ensuite bathroom was very tired and dated. Shower cubicle barely large enough to get in.

Public car parking. We had our fairly new car keyed all down one side and passenger door badly vandalised. We couldn’t do anything as we were moving on next day and it was a public car park.

We were in the annexe in what was supposed to be the hotel. The stairs to the second floor were narrow and dangerous. It was an odd room with a toilet in the corner away from the bathroom and the view from the room was onto the back of rough looking properties. Very little information when we arrived of the hotel facilities if there were any.

The location was good and the standard of breakfast was excellent and the room was clean.

Great little hotel with super views of the Loire from our balcony. The room was comfortably furnished with a nice style. Parking was right in front of the hotel, free from 6pm to 8am and if you put a ticket for say 2 hours on a 5pm it will take you through till 9 am the next morning which worked very well. We didn't object, but would not recommend for the less able; although an offer was made to carry our luggage up to our room. Lots of parking outside in car park; but could be a problem finding a space....we were lucky.

Very old building therefore narrow quirky access to our room; we're agile mid 70's. The room oozed character; beams;stone fireplace;stone walls and beautiful floor to ceiling windows. Restaurant was good quality and value.

Lack of understanding about the importance of providing gluten free bread ( not rice cakes) and sauces to accompany the meat on the restaurant menu for anyone who is a coeliac. It is unusual to find French chefs who do use wheat flour in their sauces. We don t think they understood which ingredients contain gluten. This in spite of me having e mailed the hotel weeks before our visit. The bathroom was very tiny, a shame as the bedroom was a lovely space.

Friendliness and efficiency of staff. Quality of the breakfast items, assuming you can eat gluten e.g . warm pain au chocolate, home made fruit salad, goats cheese.

The hotel has no private parking, and the parking outside is limited to 2 hours or overnight to 0900. However, what they don't tell you on the website is that there is an underground car park very close by where you can leave your car all day and it is not too expensive. The staff did point this out to us when we arrived.

Friendly and helpful staff, good buffet breakfast, location with a view of the river Loire and the Great War Memorial. The hotel location is excellent as it is walking distance to the centre and there is a large street market on Saturdays that is also very close.

"Economy room", but not only a small room and bathroom, no window (just a very small velux which could not be opened). Steamy in early June even with rather noisy fan running all night, probably unbearable in high summer. 4th floor and no lift (as described). Paying for location here: could have had a similar room for much less at Première Classe, but less conveniently located.

Perfect location: riverside and within walking distance of all city centre facilities, restaurants etc. Reasonable rate as we booked late and not many options available. Good, but not outstanding meal in the restaurant (terrace seating) at typical price for the town.

OMG. 61 steps to get up to the stuffy little cell they called a room. The room technically faced the Loire river except the only window was in the ceiling and you couldn't look out even if you stood on the chair. Plus it was raining so we couldn't even open the window which made my wife and I feel like we were literally running out of oxygen. Disappointing all around.

The location is perfect for visiting Saumur, right in the heart of the old town overlooking the Loire river. Room allocated was small and on top floor, very hot and noisy making sleep almost impossible

Great location to visit the town

    It was all excellent

Location and staff. I was greeted like a normal guest, not a mud splattered soaked cyclist . Lovely food in the restaurant also.

The staff were really friendly, the room overlooking the Loire was fine and the service and food in the restaurant were both very good.
