Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe two bedroom suite was great for a family of 4. The location is walkable to the sights in Bayeux, and convenient to get out to the D-Day areas. The back garden is probably wonderful for breakfast in nice weather, but we were there in March.

United StatesNOTHING at all!!!
We LOVED everything about this lovely hotel; it was like staying in a mini Royal Castle hiding on the side of a street. The people who own it, and the staff couldn't have been NICER and ACCOMODATING for all our needs. I would come back to Bayeux for another week and stay there again. They have the cutest dog GLORIA who greeted us everytime we came in, and made our stay so special! We learned about the history of the hotel, the town, and I CAN'T THANK THE STAFF FOR MAKING OUR TRIP AMAZING!!!!! The hotel has quaint Antique European charm, and a backyard that is equally charming.

United StatesHonestly, we had a such a wonderful time. I wish more of our experiences could have been like this one.
What an amazing experience. The hotel is very cool, located right in the center of Bayeux and so close to everything. The furthest we had to drive to any of the WW II sites was 45 minutes. It really is the perfect location if you are staying and seeing multiple sites in the area. The rooms were very large, more the size I expect in America and not Europe. The bathrooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable. We slept so well in the beds and it was so quiet. Breakfast was also very good. I also cannot say enough about the staff. So welcoming and so very helpful. We forgot to get reservations for a restaurant on Monday night and they very graciously helped us order a pizza and gave us a bottle of wine. We had a blast sitting in their front room and trying out some new foods. I do recommend that when you check in, you have the staff help you make reservations for dinner. Just let them know how much you want to spend and they are able to help out. Bayeux has many, many restaurants, but they fill up quickly. The location of the hotel was awesome and made it so easy to travel to all of the WW II sites we wanted to see. The free parking is also so helpful. If you can go on a Saturday, the farmers market was a blast to attend. We met so many nice people!

United KingdomNot really a dislike but an observation; coffee and tea making in the room is not offered, not even a couple bottles of water. Afternoon and evenings, drinks are available in the bar. However, if like me you need coffee as soon as you wake up, either take along your own kettle etc or make a dash in your pyjamas to the boulangerie just across the street that opens at 0630.
Great location, really comfy bed, fantastic shower, nice spread at breakfast and helpful and friendly staff.

United StatesThe only negative was not the hotel's fault. Just other guests forgetting they are in an older hotel and being loud and slamming doors at midnight.
The staff and owners were superb! Location was an easy walk to the sites in town and also easily accessible by car to the D Day sites. The room was very comfortable & large and the beds and shower were wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay and also the company of their dog Gloria. She was a nice, homey addition to the stay. We enjoyed having the garden to have a drink and the dining room for breakfast was beautiful! We really didn't want to leave.

United KingdomThis is a gem. Located right in the heart of the city, it is a beautiful old building that is lovingly maintained. There is a family-owned feeling as soon as you enter and the staff were both charming and very helpful. Equally delightful is the resident beagle, Gloria. All in all, an excellent hotel in a fascinating city. PS To be able to park on the site was also great.

United StatesThere is no elevator in the building and I have bad ankles, but in spite of that I was able to manage fine. We were on the 3rd floor, so it was a little challenging, but the hotel is charming.
We liked the location and the fact that it was close to everything. There are good restaurants in walking distance of the hotel, on the same street even. We didn’t even really need to use the car while we were there. My wife loved staying here. She liked the room, and there is an older dog named “Gloria” that wanders the hotel that she fell in love with. We got a WW2 tour of the Normandy beaches that started and ended in town center. It was amazing!

United StatesReally exceptional staff! Friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing (and such a beautiful room to eat in!). We were there in early March, so didn't really get to enjoy the garden, but looked so cute. Very convenient to have a parking lot, since we had a rental car. Great value! Very clear and comfortable. Maybe not the most luxurious room, but it was absolutely perfect for our needs. We had a great stay and would happily return.
