How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The bed wasn't the best and the bathroom door couldn't be fully closed.
The location is very good - the sea is in a 2 minutes walk. The receptionist was really kind and friendly.

The kid at the front desk wasn't specially helpful in any way. He failed to remind us about the included breakfast. I understand that it wasn't his responsibility, but during this trip, we stayed in 5 other places in other cities. Everyone made us feel welcomed.
We just stayed one night. We got what we paid for: a walking distance from the beach, easily accessed by bus, even to theater, where we attended to the ballet.

The location of the property was a short walk from the main promenade. We had a beautiful walk to the old town that took about 20 mins, had a lovely meal and then walked back to the property. The staff and owner were so helpful and friendly, we had forgotten to book parking and they went out of their way to find us a free parking space. The room had everything that was needed and the price was excellent.

Reception is closed at 8pm, unless arrival arranged before. So when you arrive, don't forget to make a note of the entry code to the building, as you will need it.
By far the very best of mattress quality I have encountered in my long "genious 3" Booking career. An absolute pleasure. The price is decent, good wifi, very clean, very quiet at night. Only 2 tram stops from the town center as such, and 300 meters from the sea.

In some room hot water is flowing under very low pressure. Very thin wallls, you can hear everything

The location was pretty good. A few miles away from both train station and sea beach. Also, the staff members are nice and polite.

very small bathroom sink.
Nice cozy shower. Comfortable bed. 3 minutes walk from tram to airport. The concierge explained everything to me as soon as I got there including which way to walk towards restaurants and beach (circled on comp map).

Toilet light kept going out after a few seconds, when movement was not detected - needs to be reset with a longer time interval.
Check-in was efficient, as was all the communication from the hotel. Excellent location close to the promenade, with good links to both airport and city centre. Comfortable bed and high standard of cleanliness. Plan to return when next in Nice.

Lack of aircon although we knew about this before travel. Fans provided but they were a little dated.
Cost, location, breakfast/lunch crockery, staff. Easy to access from airport. Easy to get into town centre. Near beach.

The air cooler could have been more efficient, as the room was quite hot at night. The shutters had to be closed at night (windows left open) as they opened on to street level so passers-by could see into the room.
The room was an adequate size for 2 people. We were upgraded to a bathroom which included a toilet, for which we were grateful; however it was very small. Breakfast is ordered from a hotel round the corner and has to be requested before 6pm the evening before; we only had breakfast on our first morning. The reception guys were extremely helpful and friendly.
