No air con so really warm in this summer. Opening the windows helped but it was quite noisy all night so not a perfect night's sleep but probably to be expected in this heat and on July 14th!

Great location, very central. Nice sized room and friendly staff.

Tiny bathroom and toilet. Some bad smell in the room. If you don't like the old fashioned hotel, don't go with this place. The decoration inside the hotel and the room seems a bit scary for me, especially the wooden wardrobe. It's not the hotel's fault, but just my preference. The stairs are also made from wood so that makes the noise when you walk. Even worse, the room is not soundproofing so you will hear the noise from other rooms.

    Close to the train station.

It is advertised on Booking.com as having parking. It does not. There is street parking limited to two hours or for overnight an underground multi-storey car park across the road in front of the railway station - €12 for the night.

Excellent location for exploring Tours. The staff were very friendly. It might not tick the boxes of those looking for a modern, swish hotel but Hotel de L’Europe has bags of qwerky charm. We loved it.

The bathroom is very very very small.

Location is great, right across the tramway and the main train station. Historic downtown can be reached by 15min walking, or 5 minute tramway. There is no parking offered by the hotel; but there are public parking spots (free after 19h till early morning), closeby or paid garage of the train station. Owners are very nice and helpful. I recommend this hotel for weekend getaways.

Whether it was meant to look old and drab on purpose or not it certainly was. Everywhere creaked and was dark. Staircases were windy and the room and especially the bathroom were small. We have been in caravans with bigger bathrooms. We were unable to open the bedroom door with the key and had to call the receptionist who spoke excellent English to assist us. He admitted all the doors had problems. We were asked for full payment as soon as we arrived unlike other hotels where we pay on leaving. There may be a reason for this!

It was close to the railway station, car park and restaurants. The choice for breakfast was good but there was no cooked option.

No tea/coffee or aircon, or even a fan. The down side of it being in the city is the noise, but needed a window open as there was no aircon or even a fan .

The hotel is a little different with lots of character and charm. The hotel seems to be run by the family that owns it and they were most welcoming and very patient with my struggling French. It has a very convenient location. It was a complete surprise to me. I had booked the hotel for its location and price, and was very happy with my room and the hotel. The door to our room didn't lock properly because it was warped and the striker plate was incorrectly positioned. I could open it but my wife and most people couldn't. Despite asking for it to be fixed immediately, by the time we left after 3 days nothing had been done. This was extremely disappointing. A real shame because everything else about the hotel was good - otherwise we would have left.

Staff were very helpful and lovely, it is a family run hotel, with some younger staff who speak good English. Excellent and easy to access bicycle storage. Bikes are v useful to get to the restaurant quarter quickly, but you could also take the tram. The excellent Cafe de l'instant ciné is an easy walk. We avoided the nearby cafe Leffe at the station after an indifferent meal.

    • Leisure trip

Not hotel responsibility but sometimes it is noisy given the location. Sometimes there is sewer smell in the toilet room that is probably caused by the plumbing system as it disappears immediately after flushing and if you keep the seat cover down. I must stress it is not from lack of cleaning as both the toilet room and the shower room (they are separate) are kept spotless by the cleaners. Also related to plumbing, the rate of waste water drainage from both the wash basin and the shower is slow so be careful with water flow control.

Brilliant staff who are always eager to help and volunteer suggestions for things to do and see. Excellent housekeeping staff who kept the room clean and tidy. Nice furniture and fittings from bygone days. Best location in Tours: close to the train station, the bus station and the tourist office which is the departure point for several excursion/tour companies. Close to shopping, many good places to eat (e. g. Rue de Bordeaux, Place Jean Jaures, Boulevard Heurteloup, Rue Bernard Palissy) and a nice walk to the old town for more gastronomic options and quirky shops. Several supermarkets near the hotel (Monoprix open to 21:00 Mon-Sat Rue Nationale).

Everybody can ask your key, its an old hotel, sometimes it smells weird and everything squeaks.

Location is very good and the view is also good from the rooms on the front.
