Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JerseyUnfortunately there was a noticeable smell of drains in the hotel lobby and lift, hopefully just due to the heavy rain when we stayed. Rooms were rather tired, as were we given the noise late at night in the streets. Would be worse in season I imagine. Ask for a room at the back. Corridors are short and with changes of level, would not suit anyone with mobility issues. Pricey for what it was, but no doubt that’s down to demand.
Great location very near the main square and Popes Palace. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast.

ItalyThe hall of the hotel is very small, not well organized, and some furnitures are old and not adequate for a 4 stars hotel. The room, where we stayed (privilege), has a bathroom divided in two parts; wc is divided by the rest, and it is located in a small cabin. Pillows should be renewed, hard and not uniform, substantially not comfortable.
The Hotel is perfectly located in the centre of Avignone, close to the most of historical sites and restaurants. Breakfast is good, and the space devoted to breakfast is nice and clean. Our double room was sufficiently large, with two large windows. Very well the heating in the room and in the bathroom. Finally the hotel is very close (100mt by foot) to the parking mentioned in the hotel description.

CanadaThe room was not very bright, but we were out most of the day, so it didn't really bother us.
Hotel de l'Horloge was a wonderful little boutique hotel. Our room was quiet and larger than expected. The bed and pillows were comfortable! The breakfast room was lovely and had delicious baked goods and a good variety of hot and cold options. It was really great! The hotel location was perfect. it was right by the Palace of the Popes. There were many shops and restaurants right outside the door, as well as grocery stores nearby. We had a little fridge in our room to keep snacks and drinks cold. We were close to many attractions, pick up points for excursions, buses and the train station. We would stay here again!

AustraliaThe hotel was in the very centre of Avignon. Countless restaurants and places on our doorstop. Apparently, the square outside our hotel was built on the remains of the Roman forum. The hotel itself was quirky with lots of atmosphere and lovely staff.

AustraliaOn check in given a room very small and on different levels within that room, at least 2. Asked for a bigger room which was possible if I paid another 20 euros a night. I agreed and got a better bigger room that was on one level within the room on another floor. This hotel did a DEBIT card pre authorisation for 1 night unbeknowns to me when I checked in. They said I could pay on checkout but I do prefer to pay upfront. I discovered the pre-authorisation when I checked my DEBIT card account online. I stayed at 4 different hotels during my France trip and this was the only hotel to do a pre authorisation which locks up the funds until it is cancelled. I mention this because at the time of writing this review I still have not had the pre authoristion funds released. That is not the hotels fault but I argue the pre-authorisation should not have been done in the first place. I used a Qantas Money card which has funds deposited by me, they are not credit funds. I finally got through to the Qantas call centre when I retuned to Australia who told me their policy is not to cancel pre-authorisations for 30 days. !!! So the funds locked up I could not use for the last night at my final hotel in Paris and had to find alternative methods. I will not be able to access 143.10 euros until 23rd Sept. after I convert them back into Australian dollars. The other issue I have with this Booking.com booking is the distance between the hotel and the sporting event I attended each day. The booking.com website said the distance was under 2 km but after I booked in I found out the distance was near to 5 kms. Consequently I had to spend money on taxis to and from the event. Despite given directions to the hotel from the train station after arriving in Avignon there was no signage along the main street indicating its location. After getting more closer directions I finally found the entrance in between 2 buildings halfway down a laneway. There could be better signage to indicate the entrance.
Very good full options free breakfast. Plenty of eating places in the D' Horloge Square. A short walk from the train station.
