Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe arrangement was odd - nobody at the hotel itself and had to pick up the key at a particular time from the hotel next door. The breakfast was good but completely spoilt by a very rude male staff member. Didn’t have breakfast there after the first day!
Room was sufficient and clean.

FranceCheck in time is very late. If you want to arrive before 5pm they charge 20% more - this was not very clear when I booked. Hotel sent me a message about that only after the booking was completed. When I complained, they have offered to cancel the reservation without extra fees (I think this was an honest action and a positive point for them!)
Big room, convenient parking, close to the train station. I've been in a room for people with handicap on the ground floor, and I can tell there was plenty of space (including a big bathroom with no barriers for wheelchair from door to shower).

United KingdomMinor points: 1. shower was a wet room, but floor did not slope properly so some water ran towards toilet. 2. Curtains left a gap at side.

SwitzerlandSunday, the hotel was locked, there was no reception and the first hotline was not staffed. The second number worked but the guy couldn't speak any English and was extremely unfriendly. I'm still waiting for a promised callback (catastrophe). The same at breakfast - the guy from the coffee bar was so demotivated and didn't even removed to his second AirPod. The only bright spot was the girl at the check-out. nice and friendly

AustraliaWe were given an accessible room which is not really the vibe for our honeymoon (stated in the booking). The room air conditioner was also not great and didn't work very well. The room was positioned at the entry so very loud when other guests go past and even had a few other guests try and enter (3 times). The check in staff were quite rude (despite our best efforts given language barriers). Parking was not mentioned so we ended up just parking on the street.
Hotel was clean and room size was large.

New ZealandWe were not given what we'd booked, which was an accessible unit on the ground floor. What we were given was an ordinary one on the first floor. Staff at reception spoke no English so it was impossible to discuss anything with them as our French is not fluent and the person with whom we were dealing was too busy. There was a lift, a very strange one, but it got us up. However, there is no way a wheelchair could have been used in the unit as for a start there was not enough space and there was a step up into the bathroom, then into the shower. Luckily we didn't need one. The bathroom light came on automatically with movement, which was a nuisance. The door to the shower wouldn't close properly so some water ended up on the floor. One of the cleaners tried to fix it but after that the door would only open inwards so there wasn't any room inside the shower. It probably needs rehanging. Our television remote had no cover for the batteries. Parking is behind the other hotel, off the busy street between the two hotels. On our first night the under cover section was full of motorcycles and there was room for one car. There were just vehicles the second night, but most vehicles are out in the open. There seems to be room for 5-6 vehicles. There is said to be parking outside the old railway station but there are usually not many spaces available.
This arrangement is actually two hotels with a busy street separating them. The other hotel is where all the reception work takes place. The cleaning staff were pleasant and cheerful. They spoke no English but did their best to help. As everything was done from the other hotel it was good to have the security given by the fact that a code was necessary to enter our building.

United KingdomThe description implies there is a restaurant. There isn’t- the restaurant is in a different hotel next door and it was closed. There was no one to let me in when I arrived Sunday evening- just a text with an entry code. I could not find the WiFi code and there was no one to ask. The description suggests this is a proper hotel with staff and a restaurant. It isn’t. It is basically an up market doss house. When I texted a question to the number on a card at the so-called “reception” I got no reply. The phone provided at “reception did not work”. I will avoid “Contact” hotels in future. There is no contact!
Breakfast was good and the room was very clean

United KingdomThe size of the room was one up from a Japanese sleeping pod✖️ Not enough storage, wardrobes, etc, even using the window sills ✖️ For two people, it is best to work out a plan on how to move around the room without bumping into each other ✖️ Postage stamp size towels ✖️ Using the shower was a challenge, and it was best to adopt a dance where the hands and arms are elevated above the head to keep the lights in the shower room on✖️ Know shelves in the shower cubicle, so everything is placed on the floor ✖️ Sitting on the toilet is a challenge to not get your left leg jammed under the wash-hand basin unit✖️ Free standing oil filled electric plug-in radiator for heating ✖️ Stairs were dirty ✖️ If this was your first experience with hotels, I doubt you would try again ✖️
The hotel was there! ✔️ The staff were efficient and helpful. ✔️ The water was hot✔️ The lights worked ✔️ There was a bed✔️
