Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Its rooms and communal areas are very outdated and in need of a good makeover.
The hotel, room and bathroom were very clean. The room had air conditioning which was very welcoming after a hot day. The staff were very polite and friendly.

Excellent location in the centre of Paris and near to metro stations. Quiet hotel, comfortable rooms. Breakfast is superb. Staff are friendly and willing to help. I highly recommend this hotel.

All was good
The hotel was in a great location, staff were exceptional, especially with limited French users, beds and room were great, would definitely recommend to friends and family. Breakfast was included (optional) which was very satisfying.

We loved our stay! Hotel was in a great location with refurbished bathrooms and aircon. Staff were exceptionally helpful. Would definitely stay again on our next trip to Paris. Thanks for a great stay :-)

A bit of construction occurring at the site but it wasn’t super disruptive.
Great breakfast and convenient location near the metro station. Staff were great and rooms quite nice - they upgraded me to a double free of charge which was great.

The wifi didnt work
I liked the location, 20 minutes by foot to Louvre, Opera, Montmartre and very close to two metro stations. The staff was also really kind and helpful.

The hotel is located just steps away from a lively main street where all means of transportation are available, as well as beautiful restaurants and upscale shops. A ten-minute walk is sufficient to reach Galeries Lafayette and the cathedral. My stay was wonderful with the wonderful reception staff who helped me a lot to have a wonderful and unforgettable vacation.

Carpet in room could do with a clean. Limited breakfast options and no gluten free cereal.
Great location near a metro station, bars and a supermarket. Interior architecture. Very nice staff. Spacious rooms. When we arrived, our room wasn’t available due to maintenance issues and they gave us 4 of us two triple rooms instead which meant plenty of room even though we were split up. We were also given free breakfasts and the staff let us leave our luggage in one of the rooms for a few hours after check out. Very helpful!

Great location, close to Metro's, Gare Du Nord & Gare de L'est. Most main sites are walkable in 30 minutes. Close to main shopping area and a decent selection of restaurants and bakeries between it and main train stations. Staff friendly and very helpful. Although it's in central Paris I didn't find it too noisy. Can't comment on breakfast as there were plenty of places nearby to have breakfast in so didn't bother.

The cushions were not comfortable enough. The room would get a bit cold midnight and will disrupt my sleep as I will have to wake up and turn in the air conditioner. Some of the clients were noisy really early/ late at night and works me up with their noise (banging doors and running down the stairs).
It’s location, as it was walking distance (20 min) from different touristic places and also had many restaurants and metro stations around.

The location is amazing (10-15 minutes walk to Louvre), rooms clean and comfy, staff pleasant. You could simply feel the Parisian vibes all the way. We would definitely recommend Hotel des Comedies to families and all the people who would like to experience the most beautiful city in the world.

No, sleepers in the room. Under the bed we found someone's socks. Shower too small and there was no curtain. Toilet door lock was damaged. Wardrobe is too small. In general, it needs refurbishment.
Bed was comfortable.
