Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

We have stayed here 4 times on our visits to Parthenay. We love it . So spacious and comfortable 😁The staff are excellent and extremely helpful.

Being disabled my husband found it a long walk from the car park especially with several bags of medication etc. A small trolly was provided to return our bags to the car. We suggested a proper trolly be made available for guests.
Breakfast was adequate but we probably would not bother with it if we visit again because we could use the facilities in the accommodation provided

There really wasn't anything that we didn't like. We definitely want to go back. If there was one thing that could have been better it would be that we couldn't figure out the Wi-Fi. But we really didn't need it.
We told them that it was our honeymoon and they decorated our room for us with flowers and treat. They were so welcoming. We stayed in the chateau and it was very pleasant. The older residents of the adjoining care home were so lovely and welcoming as well when we saw them in the mornings when we left to go out for the day.

Couldn't fault anything
Lovely place. The staff were excellent. Facilities including pool and gym were a bonus. Very quiet, safe and secluded with easy parking. The rooms were large including bathroom and lounge/kitchen. The beds were very comfortable.

Exceptionnal stopover in Parthenay. We didn't think much good about the city beside its medieval centre which was strangely calm but the stay at Château des plans in itself made it worthy. Vast and clean appartment in an old castle. We wished we had booked for longer.

We hadn't realised that it was actually inside of an old people's home, so it seemed a bit weird to us.

Small items can make all the difference: like a few cups for soup and a dishcloth to clean the surface of the kitchen board and the stove.
The location is wonderful. Beautiful apartment, great view and I loved the atmosphere. Also nice to have the mixed function of an elderly home and vacation apartments. The old estate, where the complex is situated, is still largely intact. Which means that there is excellent space to walk the dogs. I loved it and will definitely come back.

Nothing the place was perfect and great value for money
The directions to the accommodation were good and a friendly face at reception and the lady guided us to our apartment in the little chateau. The breakfast was very good - good coffee!

the chambers d’hote were on the top floor on an old peoples’ home and all he public rooms were devoted to them, of course the location was away from the town centre so ample parking but no ambience.
the receptionist was patient and charming. the Flatlet was perfectly adequate for an overnight stop. of course it was perfectly clean and the building surrounded by pleasant gardens.

It is in a care home albeit a separate building. The pool was in the home and was suited to the residents rather than tourists and had overly loud musak. Lots of security locks on all doors.
The appartment was nice, the bathroom was new and rather splendid, teas were offered but no kettle! Luckily I am English and had brought my own. 😁 you can sit around in the gardens, and I did get my swim. I was just there for one night so didn't do any tourism but the area seemed charming.
