Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

No parking on site. We arrived at 7.30pm and all on street parking occupied and all local car parks full. After a search managed to squeeze into a space half a mile away up hill. The lady on reception explained that there are usually spaces available between the local business workers leaving and before those from Lyon get home.
Good location on the riverside. Bedroom clean, good nights sleep. Didn't have breakfast. It's an old building with a lift to fourth floor. Situated in old town with bars and restaurants a very short walk. Staff pleasant and helpful. Good for an overnight stop on drive through France.

The lady on reception could have been a little more friendly.
Location was ideal and parking over bridge was free. The small reception area was nice and bright for the light breakfasts.

the lack of a refrigerator
The room was very clean with contemporary toilet and shower facilities. A big bonus was the river view and the windows are double-glaced.

A little more variety with the breakfast (although I understand it is a small hotel so they can't be expected to put on a large buffet).
The room was very comfortable and had a modern shower. It was all very clean. The receptionist was extremely helpful. We were lucky to be able to park just outside (but this isn't guaranteed). Nice view of bridge and a short walk to the town centre with nice restaurants. Very easy to get to from the motorway.

On the river . Lovely view from the bedroom on to the Soane. Close to the centre of the town to walk around. Free parking close by .Excellent Indian restaurant beside the hotel . Good continental breakfast. Pleasant friendly and helpful receptionist.

My room, which didn't have a view, had very little natural light - but if you don't need to stay in the room during the day it shouldn't be a problem.
The location is great, the room was very clean, and the staff was very helpful. The room was quiet. I enjoyed my stay.

The room and bathroom were small (although manageable). Bed sidetables were too small to use. Corridors and stairs not modernized, felt really old. old.
Location is great, right in Macon city center and along the river Saone. Still, we could easily park on streets for free. The inside of the hotel rooms and lobby is modern and stylish. Friendly staff served the good breakfast in covid proof setting. Bed and shower comfortable.

Cannot really call it a dislike but secure parking can be an issue . There are car parks close by and reception are helpful in guiding you to them Boulangerie behind the hotel that makes great quiche and sandwiches for onward journey

We could have used extra pillows. The amenities were to bare minimum: no extra toilet paper, no tissues, 1 glass for 2, a single towel per person. No cold water in the shower. If you don't take breakfast at the hotel, the coffee vending machine is 2€. Parking can be tricky.
Overall the room was pleasant and clean. It was just fine for one night.

Room smelt of cigarette smoke when we came in. Ceilings are very low for tall guests! The shower in the morning was cold, which for a hotel at this price is really not acceptable. I reported this to reception, where the comment was "noted".
This hotel is nicely positioned on the river and in the centre of town. Close to the Saturday market and shops and restaurants. Hotel does not offer parking - as advertised so that is fine. We managed to park just across the road for free.
