Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaBreakfast was very disappointing. Save you money and have breakfast in town.
The rooms [we had two rooms] were good and well appointed. One of our rooms overlooked the street and it was impossible to sleep with the windows open because of the traffic noise. With the windows closed the room was very quiet... but rather warm. Because the airconditioning was not working we could not cool the room. Still, because it was September it was not a major inconvenience. The reception staff were nice... and the lady on the desk when we checked in was really very helpful. The location is SUPERB! And the availability of free parking in the nearby carpark is a real bonus.

This hotel is an anachronism. The location is great, the service friendly and helpful, the hall looks great. We had booked a superior room and that was hugh and situated at the side to the river, well furnished and clean, the bed very comfortable. On the other side you see that there is a lot amiss with regard to repair and maintenance, black blotches in the bath tube serving as shower, the border of which was broken and loose, water running for five minutes before it gets warm. Neglect from the past showing in the facility wherever you look. We used the staircase only once, although we stayed at the first floor! It looks, as if actually there is effort to improve, but this is really a task in such a big old house. If you are not looking to close into the dark corners this is a great place to stay which has its own form of charisma. It fits to the medieval city! I can’t comment on the breakfast, we only had coffee, but this was very good and served nicely.

GermanyHowever, it was disappointing that there was no Wi-Fi on the 3rd floor, the toilet and shower smelled a bit of sewage. The breakfast a little (very much) did not match the amount we paid for it.
The decorations in the hotel are wonderful! You feel like a princess in a castle with many hidden locations.. The pool deserves a special mention, of course. There is a deep zone (more than 2 m) and a shallow one, places to relax in the shade and in the sun. It is located literally in the courtyard between the houses, above the canal flowing here.

AustraliaCarpark lift wasn’t working and it was very dirty there and had broken glass on the ground. No one to greet you at breakfast to explain where everything was. No bowls were available for the cereal. Breakfast was expensive for what was available.
Easy walking distance to the Cathedral and surrounding areas. Spacious room with a comfortable bed and windows that open to allow in fresh air. Good water pressure for the bath and shower. Free parking in the Saint Marcel carpark.

United KingdomBe aware that the underground parking is very tight. Single entrance and exit and very steep ramps. The lift from the car park to the hotel lobby wasn't working and the stairs up are tortuous.
City centre location. Great staff.

GermanyPublic souterrain parking is offered, but access is quite difficult as there is not much room to move around. For a normal car it requires 2 spaces. The lot next to ours was full of broken glass, which was not removed until the next morning. Elevators were out of order which meant to carry luggage up and down through a very narrow staircase. Breakfast was ok, but the selection of fruit was a bit small.
The hotel is at a central location. It is old and you can smell this. Room (superior) and bathroom were good. Breakfast was ok, but not too much to select from.

NetherlandsElevator in the parking garage was broken.
We stayed in a renovated family room. It was spacious and comfortable. The room was very nice (some reviews here were very negative so we were positively surprised). There’s a playground just at the end of the street. The location is very close to the city centre. We had a great time!

IrelandThe hotel could do with a complete revamp, hallway, stairwell and rooms. We travelled by car and parked in the underground carpark next to the hotel. The lift didnt work from the underground car park and we had to carry all our luggage up a very narrow stairwell 42 steps up,not ideal for senior members of our party.
The room was comfortable, location was excellent and breakfast was great.

SwitzerlandThe breakfast was not bad, but not really up to the value of the price.
For the price we paid it was very good value. Comfortable beds, big enough room and not too noisy. The whole hotel wouldn’t suffer from a renovation but for a one-night stay quite appropriate and well located.

United KingdomThe underground car park is dark and the lift was not working. The stairway up to hotel was dirty and smelly. The area between car park exit and hotel entrance was also dirty with rubbish. Shame as this was really the only downside of our stay at the hotel.
Reception staff very helpful and a pleasant, original reception area. Room was spacious but could do with refurbishing. Good to have a kettle for tea/coffee making. Very nice to have a toilet separate to the bathroom. Very close to centre of Metz, so very convenient. From underground parking, there is an exit which takes you to within a few steps of the hotel.
