How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewA beautiful and historic boutique hotel right at the Panthéon! It really doesn’t get any better than this! While there are many wonderful restaurants and shopping close by, the area is not as hectic as other tourist areas. We loved our room overlooking the Panthéon. The windows are well insulated so we did not notice noise at night and our French balcony was so perfect!

Verified reviewThe breakfast was too expensive but there are so many great places nearby. Absolutely loved this location! Loved that they kept many old features and special things like the door handles. Really great shower. Lovely staff.
While the couch worked as a bed for my child, it didn’t leave much room for stuff. Still, we expected a smaller room in Paris so we weren’t surprised.

Verified reviewFabulous location in a quieter part of the left bank. Easy trip direct from CDG airport on the RER B. Awesome to look out on the Parthenon and the windows keep any sound out. Lovely comfrysble bed. It’s a ten minute walk to the heart of the left bank and buses a minute away to get you just about everywhere. Super clean rooms and atmospheric decoration.
Had to duck down to plug phone chargers in. Booked a balcony room which wasn’t available when we arrived but well recovered by upgrading us to a bigger room.

Verified reviewHotel des Grands Hommes is situated in a perfect spot on the doorstep of the Pantheon and five minutes walk from the Jardins de Luxembourg. It's very well connected with transport, with Metro, RAR trains and buses very close by. Three stops away from Gard du Nord on RER B. The internal decor of the hotel is elegant and very comfortable. I've tried to upload lots of pictures not sure how many the platform allows. The beauty immediately transports you to 19th century Paris, setting the tone perfectly if you are open to being beguiled by the overwhelming theatre of this extraordinary city. My room was number 62 and I loved everything about it. From the beautiful Chinese fabric wallpaper, luxurious bed linens, French doors to the opulent marble bathroom. I requested a bath tub and I was very pleased that it also came with an excellent shower, both the rainfall and handheld shower head options. It really feels like they have thought of every little detail to make you stay as nice as possible. There was a mini fridge in the room which I could get three large bottles of water in along with some cheeses, ham, butter, and macarons, of course. The hairdryer was excellent and the room had countless electrical sockets, plenty of places to charge device devices. Breakfast was plentiful with many choices, including: cook breakfast items such as scrambled egg, bacon, sausages plus the continental choices of croissant, baguette with various butters, jams, cheeses, and ham available. Also fresh fruit and bowls of prepared fruit salad. Along with teas and coffees, they also kindly provided gluten-free bread for me at a moments notice. I had a marvellous six night stay at this hotel and I won't hesitate to come back. All of the staff were kind, gracious and helpful. I can't remember everybody's names but Vanessa, please thank your brilliant team. You are the hotel's greatest assets. The fifth arrondissement has so many lovely places to visit.
Nothing.

Verified reviewAmazing location and awesome room and bathroom (and products and hairdryer!). Didn’t have breakfast at the property as it was on Lower ground floor and we wanted to be outside at a cafe or boulangerie as weather was so lovely. But the hotel room looking out onto the Pantheon was stunning. Bed was super comfortable. The room had a massive desk in it that was a bit unnecessary and if you took that out and replaced it with a couple of armchairs or console table it would have freed up loads of space. It was funny really though. The room was really good. Shower fabulous. Staff super welcoming. Location second to none.
Nothing really
