Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceThe property lacks a bit of maintenance in some areas. Rooms are rather clean but a deeper cleaning would be surely necessary.
The hotel is charming, hided in the woods but still at a short distance from the village. The room is large enough and the equipment is good. Very quiet environment and a private parking. A good option for this area.

United KingdomThe only issue was that in our room, the toilet was close to the door, so you had to sort you sat sideways if you were a bit tall. That being said, the overall room was fantastic, and it's an old building, so I didn't really mind all that much.
I thought the staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel had lots of character. The rooms were nice and the bed comfortable. The price was fantastic and the grounds were lovely, and the breakfast was filling and tasty. Would definitely stay again.

United KingdomRoom was lovely but bathroom needed ventilation as there was a bad musty smell and mildew on the ceiling and wall panelling. Just fix the mildew and it will be great!
Beautiful location, lovely terrace, well stocked bar, and most fantastic food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast.

NetherlandsPlace wasn’t heated in spite of the cold. Personally I didn’t mind but I’m sure many travellers would. Restaurant a bit over-priced for quality of food served.

BelgiumThere was no river, so paying for a "riverside room" was absurd. During dinner, we were asked to move to a different room, because a couple had just arrived who had booked "the good room" for two nights and we had only booked it for one night. We went to the reception (during dinner) and were told it was a mistake, so a lot of fuzz for nothing and dinner pretty much ruined. Not that the food was very tasty to begin with. The staff at dinner was pretty unfriendly and only addressed my partner (m) as I (f) was basically ignored. We paid extra for a room with a bath, but didn't even dare to take a bath, let alone drink from the water out of the tap: it was brown and smelled awful. The blinds didn't close, the room was a bit stale.
The location is peaceful and quiet, there's a nice terrace for smoking and a free parking area next to the hotel.

SwedenThe only concern was the accomodation itself. The room was pretty outdated and the water smelled of rust that we could not drink from the tap. Otherwise the area was beautiful. Perhaps if they renovate the rooms and fix the water issue we would stay again.
The staff was really nice and very accomodating specially with having our dog around. Breakfast was okay with very delicious breads and daeries to complement. The restaurant was spectacular offering amazing 3-course meals for dinner.

United KingdomSo sad that this property has become very run down.
The sheets were clean and the shower exceptionally powerful. The breakfast (not included) was generous.

New ZealandAs part of the character of the accommodation I could forgive the small room at the top of the stairs and the even smaller shower room, but not the unreliable plumbing or the attitude of the receptionist at check out. I was in Room 5 at the top of the stairs. There was never any sink water delivered from the hot tap and the cold supply was temperamental. The shower supply was also questionable. I could go into detail but the 3 visits the owner made to my room and the offer of another room made no difference. I stayed where I was as I had already unpacked and did not think a room change to one on the same landing would improve matters. With no common language between us, I could not explain what the real problem was but as someone used to evaluating buildings I had a good idea. In my opinion, the system pressure is not enough and the demand originated by opening a tap not properly picked up. The lack of hot water to the sink tap is a blockage somewhere. The whole water system needs to be inspected by an experienced plumber and changes made. Whilst there is a cost to this, it is a fundamental requirement that hot and cold water be delivered reliably. As to the receptionist, I think she has featured in these reviews before. Continually chewing gum, not looking at me at all but speaking quickly in French when she knew I could not understand is inexcusable. She does not need retraining but redeploying somewhere she does not need to deal with paying clients in a hospitality environment. She was the final straw. That said, I had a very pleasant walk through the local woods in the sunshine. Had it been raining......
Dinner was excellent and well presented. The location is very quiet and there was covered parking for motorcycles.
