Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Room got really hot and it wasn’t even summer yet. The AC didn’t work properly and didn’t cool the room at all, only option was to open windows.
Great location, in the city center, but still very quiet street. Very friendly staff and very comfortable room.

Very small rooms. The shower...I am sorry to say but they are the smallest I have ever tried. I am not big and I JUST fit inside.

Very small rooms. Very slow elevator, waiting very long every time.
Good location, walking distance to city center. Rooms were very clean, staff very nice. Very comfortable and big bed compared to small room size. Breakfast was correct.

The pillow was too hard. I took it out of the pillowcase and put in a softer cushion. Problem solved!

The breakfast area was rather busy when we went. There was a recommendation to avoid the peak time but this was the time we needed to take our breakfast. We were lucky to get a table but some had to queue and wait. The breakfast was good though.
The location was great! It was ideal for a stopover as we were travelling by train for our holiday. We got the tram from the airport easily, we walked to the market area and beach in the evening and we were able to walk to the train station. The staff at reception were cheerful and helpful. They recommended a great restaurant nearby too for our dinner, La Villa Este.

Breakfasts are a little poor, and the breakfast room was very small and was getting very crowded between 8 and 10 am
I got a free room upgrade for my birthday, new room had a great terrace. Beds were really comfortable.

Only two pillows on the bed!

Room was too warm but we understand AC doesn’t get switched on in winter season.
Clean room with a lovely breakfast provided and great location. Naim on the front desk was really helpful and welcoming when we arrived! Great service all round. We will visit again

The soundproof of the rooms is very poor. You can hear the steps and the voices from your neighbors.

Our first booking was cancelled due to "credit card not working". As booking.com has sometimes been infiltrated by scams it was difficult to know if this was a true message (it was). Luckily we were able to get a room when we arrived (with the same credit card).
Handy location in the centre, close to tram to airport, walking distance from train station. Small room but felt spacious, enough storage for clothes, tea/coffee kettle, nice bathroom. Comfortable bed. Good selection of options at breakfast. Very friendly personnel.

We have stayed here several times before and always enjoyed the breakfast buffets. This time though they didn’t have any black tea, they had run out in the breakfast room, but they had 4 types of specialty teas. Every day I would to ask for the black tea and they would get one teabag from a small box in the back room. They ran out of that too after two days, the supervisor/manager? even checked on the third day. I brought the one bag that was in our room (which they never replaced) down the next day and still they never bothered to get more. I only drink black tea, so I had to buy a box of it from the grocery store as most coffee shops don’t have it either. Sounds kind of silly to complain about, but for you coffee drinkers just imagine not being able to get coffee every morning. Not a great way to start the day.

Very small lift, very busy in the small breakfast area. Confusion re car parking, the small discount available was not clearly explained , we actually lost money check this out before you arrive, I think we paid over the odds plus in my opinion, very expensive,
