I prefer to be informed in advance if I need to leave a deposit while checking in. I’ve stayed in the property several times. This is the first time I was asked to pay deposit if 95 Eur. And probably I would like to add: It would be really lovely to be greeted in a more friendly way. Usual: welcome back , how was your flight and have a lovely stay in our hotel. I travel a lot for business and leisure. These words are must have. Grand Hotel is not a cheap hotel and it is a high level hotel. I believe some changes in this attitude will help.

Amazing Location , leaving in several hotels in Belfort. This one the best.

The hotel management considers some rooms superior which do not match the description (30 sq and soundproof). We received a small room which certainly was not 5x6m and you could hear anything from next door, esp. toiltet flushes etc. The hotel management told us they receive regular complaints about this assignment policy but that they are not able to change it, which is a real disappointment. The breakfast ist not four-star Grand-Hotel stlye, with soggy cakes and running scrambled eggs.

Tastefully renovated with beautiful rooms and an impressive lobby. The rooms are comfortable but the descriptions for superior rooms do not match all rooms the hotel considers superior. Some of the superior rooms are small and anything but soundprrof.

There are some other good places for less money. Downtown area is small.

Location. The back street is full of options. The room is ok and breakfast too.

The hotel charged me for two breakfasts that I didn't have. I stupidly presented my card for payment before reviewing the bill. (The receptionist didn't give me the bill before requesting my card but I should have insisted.) When I saw the charge on the bill I immediately requested a refund but was told that it was not possible to reverse the charge on my card and that I would have to give them banking details so they could process a refund. I gave them the details and followed up 3 times requesting the payment. It was not made. Fortunately I returned to Belfort for business 3 weeks later. I went to the hotel to ask about my refund and they said that they couldn't process it because the bank charges were too high. They said I needed to give them banking details in the European Union. I do not have a bank account in the European Union. They then agreed to refund me in cash. I had requested a cash refund when the incident happened and they said that was impossible. Strange how it became possible 3 weeks later. If I had not returned to Belfort in person I doubt I would have ever gotten the refund.

Very nice location. Nice historical building. Close to restaurants and the historical sights and tourist attractions. Old world feel. Nice and quiet.

The ONLY downside (which is only significant in the event of a "heat wave" is the lack of true air conditioning. The evaporative cooler in the corner of the room helps, but a suggestion is to provide a "lighter" bedspread option as the provided comforters are a bit much in August.

The close proximity to the "old city" and the history that can be viewed in the Citadel museum are the real attractions. The recent renovations are a great improvement to the facility (I had stayed there about 10 years ago). In spite of the renovations, walking into the front door and viewing the grand staircase evokes "history".

Excellent....definitely the best hotel in Belfort. A touch of class and attention to detail not evident in the corporate branded hotels, well worth a vist and great value.

It would have been good to have the option of some pain complet at breakfast .

A great hotel . We loved the sense of belle-époque grandeur in the Reception area and our room was really spacious and beautifully appointed . Huge bed and lovely modern bathroom . Also very convenient for the old town _ just 5 minutes walk away and about 15 mins walk (uphill) to the magnificent citadel . The little bag of chocolates left for us in the room was a great touch . Would definitely stay here again if we return to Belfort . Copious breakfast buffet - excellent !

Lack of parking, the lift being out of order and no assistance with our mobility problems. Breakfast was so busy that they ran out of croissants, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, fruit salad and bread. With only one member of staff on duty desperately trying to cope. The breakfast fiasco was very disappointing as the hotel must know how many guests ordered breakfast

The hotel itself and the room was good
