We knew that there was no lift but it was not made clear that the stairs are narrow with short treads and a bend on the 2 flights we had to go up. They were perilous when carrying a case up the stairs.

The fact that the hotel didn't have a lift, but I knew that before I went and was prepared to stay there anyway because everything else about the hotel sounded appealing.

The hotel was thoroughly charming, the staff were very pleasant and helpful, and it was in a good location both for the station and for sightseeing.

This was our second trip to the ‘Bee hotel’ and we came back because it is the opposite of a chain hotel. It has a lot of character and feels really homely. Just a short walk from the main square and cathedral. There is easy parking outside (pay in daytime, free overnight). Our room was nice, warm and it was great to have a bath. The breakfast was good and included scrambled eggs. The staff were friendly and we were glad to be told about the Christmas market and to see the illuminations at the cathedral which were amazing (if you’re staying at Christmas)

I love this Hotel! It has a great history and I the staff is very friendly. There is a very familiar athmosphere in the Hotel. The location is perfect to visit the city of Orleans.

The only knock I have was the bath/shower. I had a tub shower combo, but you could not stand up as I was on the very top floor with limited head space in the bathroom. A little inconvenient, but no big deal. Lastly, no lift in this hotel, so you will need to carry your bags up the stairs - travel light!

I really like this hotel. The room was comfortable with a large bed. The reception and breakfast area were great - it maintains an older charm. Breakfast was really good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Parking was tricky, mainly metered in the direct locality - spaces are like gold dust. There's no lift, and a winding, uneven staircase - it was all part of the building's character, but probably not great for the elderly/incapacitated. I had torn a ligament in my leg the day before, which meant it was slow and painful getting to my room on the third floor!

Lovely building with loads of character. Room was great, overlooking the street below. Staff were super friendly and accommodated my terrible schoolboy french with humour and politeness

A charming property with friendly, helpful staff. Decorated with style and originality. Lovely breakfast room in which to enjoy a perfect start to the day. The staircase can be a challenge but the staff helped us with our luggage.

Not any fault of the hotel but my own fault for booking last minute we ended up in the attic of the hotel so maybe like the 5th floor the room was spacious but the bathroom was in the eaves so showering was a kneel down in the bath but hey I'm 6ft 5 apart from that the room was a good size.

The staff were very welcoming both at check in and at breakfast. The hotel is steeped in history with old winding staircases and pictures of the hotel from days gone by to an amazing roof terrace which we were fortunate to have use of as we were on the 4th floor. Breakfast was good and plentiful set you up for the rest of the day.

I would have loved a glass in the room and maybe the possibility to make tea. Those could be great additions to this charming place.

Charming hotel, between the trainstation and the city centre (only a 10 minutes walk). Such a wonderful atmosphere, attention for details. My room was quite small but it was good quality for the price. A very nice roof terrace. Very friendly staff.

It is very tricky to get to the hotel by car to drop off your luggage due to the town’s one-way systems and tram routes. Now we have done it once we would be less confused but it was rather challenging first time around! Getting your car to the paid overnight parking is also a bit of a pain because of the road system, but the parking is very secure and only five mins walk. That said, it is also a bonus to be staying in the heart of Orleans.

The hotel is packed full of character and in the heart of Orleans, close to restaurants, bars and the historic centre.
